    cotto did not quit

i see its a popular phrase that gets thrown around here rather loosely. let me set the record straight on this though.

    cotto did not quit.

plain and simple. he took what were more than likely plaster covered fists for 11 rounds until his body couldn't take it anymore.

i assume those of you who consider him a quitter feel you would have or could have done better/different?

i understand if you're favorite fighter is "scared" of cotto or is considered to have ducked him then you might not be a big fan of his. but to call a warrior like miguel cotto a quitter or "quitto" is not only disrespect to one of the current best in our sport but boxing as a whole.

i know its the internet and its cool to say whatever is on your mind and be an ******* but have some respect for men who get punched in the face as a profession please.

i would expect this type of childish **** on 4chan not on a boxing forum.

you're a fool if you think cotto's chin would have stood up to 11 rounds of plastered filled gloves. Cotto being able to handle over 250 power punches from gloves filled with plaster???? ok ok i caught my breath, go on with your excuses.

He did his best in a losing effort. No shame in that to me.
Live to fight another day I say.
He didn't have anything left in the 11th of that fight.

It happens to a lot of them.

Most of the people here are between 12 - 16 so your post is pretty invalid and I think 70% of the kiddies here are a regular customer of the great 4chan.
I feel you though, its sad to see people disrespecting boxers to this degree.

I don't consider it quitting because he was finished. His stamina was depleted and his brain was rattled. He took a hellova beating in that fight. If he continued any further it wouldn't have mattered; he had no tools to come back and win at that point. He would have been right back down on the canvas in even worse health. And who knows if he comes back from that.

it's not an excuse. i'm not defending the loss. i'm talking about classless *******s talking tough behind keyboards because its the easiest thing to do on earth. what percentage of this forum owns a pair of boxing gloves? probably less than 2%. how many have been in any kind of real fight? probably less than 10%. a bunch of nerds calling dudes who could rip there spinal cords out of there nostrils "quitters" is ridiculous to me.

I don't agree with the Cotto quitting theory but a lot of times, I think it's basically just a reaction to the "Cotto is superman" threads.
