cotto did not quit

He had nothing left, instead of just standing there waiting to be punished he decided to protect himself. You might see that as quitting but he knew there was nothing else he could do to win and taking anymore damage was pointless. In my opinion quitting is when you can still fight but want the easy way out.

But if Magarito was wearing plaster wraps than the power from his punches may have deterred Cotto from staying inside and ****ing to the body. His game-plan changed from his usual come forward destruction fighter to moving around (which wore out his legs). Plus any time he got hit took something out of him.

trust me. i know not everyone is going to agree or see eye to eye. i don't expect everyone to see it my way. but it isn't a matter of opinion when it comes down to it. he didn't quit. he had nothing left to give. why go out on his back if he didn't have to?

should his thought process have been, "i know i can't win, let me take a clean shot on the chin so i can get knocked down and then get counted out so people don't think i'm a quitter"? apparently that's what some people on here think.

concrete and xz apparently you don't know how the alleged plaster was supposed to have worked. it was said to have hardened over time. so he didn't take 250+ plaster filled shots exactly if that were the case. it would have been a much smaller amount. maybe 50 or 75. who knows. its all speculation. but common sense points to margarito cheating.

Sorry man but he did quit he couldn' take it no more.. he had some of the most flushed shots at TM head and TM kept creepin forward and forward.. it was all psychological from that point on...

Mosley exploited Cotto during their fight that you can push forward and make him uncomfotable and then Shane used his speed and POWER to Kill TM.. also used his head by tying him up so TM couldn't get his exchanges off...

So are you saying Cotto's chin is great without being hit by plaster?

I think it's pretty good but I've seen him pretty wobbly before.

If he did use it then of course it has a part in it.. but Cotto had his chances to KO Margs he didn't, then in the fight you could see his confidence just go down.. he kept back peddling, hitting TM with clean ass shots and still nothing..

It was a great fight and cotto had a great perfotmance, but it was TM's night..
