it might not pull in a million ppv buys but it'll be a big event in the boxing world.

Na, I honestly think Juanma has more outsiders rooting for him. Cotto's fan base is one-dimensional, Juanma's is international so far.

At the Garden. In New York. How much did Cotto sell in Vegas?

Dontcha think there's a reason why Cotto needs to be fighting in MSG on PR weekend all the time?

Tito sells anywhere. Cotto sells under highly specific situations.

BTW, is HBO still tabulating the Cotto-Mosley nums?

I think Mosley would have something to say about that.

Haha, nah man. Not yet. Juanma has a higher ceiling as far as fan base and marketability, but he aint the draw Cotto is yet. Cotto, whether you like to admit it or not, is known by the mainstream. People who can only name 10 boxers usually name Cotto, through my experience at least. Plus, Cotto has sold over 300K and over 400K. Juanma couldn't do that right now.

                In Atlantic City as well.

He can probably sell better on the west coast now after the Margarito fight. Even though he was the loser, it was an epic fight that no one will ever forget.

Then a Pac-Cotto fight will surely sell out MSG. In that case, this is a Major fight!

they can hold this **** at yankee stadium.

there's 60,000 filipino-americans in new york city. 30,000 in queens alone.

add to that all the other filipino-americans in the state of new york plus about 50,000 in new jersey.

with that plus the hundreds of thousands of puerto ricans in new york and new jersey. they can sell out yankee stadium.

It's not up to us to declare if it is a mega fight or not. It's the MEDIA's job. I believe that if PAC-HAtton was "sold" as a MEGA FIGHT, so could be PAC-Cotto. The problem is BOB ARUM, he doesn't run the extra mile to promote big fights. I hope PAC's hype is big enough to carry this fight over the edge. IF it happens, I would be traveling to see the fight LIVE!!!
