No way Jose. Juanma Lopez has a bigger fan base than Miguel Cotto, Imo.

But this fight would do 700 to 800 buys IMO. I consider that mega.

But PPV buys isn't the only thing that makes a mega fight. Media coverage and such matters too. Even if Pac/Hatton only did 650K buys, the media coverage on it made it a mega event ya know?
At the end of the day, SALES is what determines the success of a product. When a movie comes out, they publicize the sales ("$100 million in ticket sales this weekend").

Some movies are heavily hyped, and don't sell. Some movies are heavily hyped, and sell.

The success is not determined by the coverage.... it's determined by the money.

Don't have hard figures, but he sold it out. At the time, the Judah fight was the biggest crowd ever in the garden. It was on the eve of the PR Parade, so that probably had something to do with it. But Cotto/Mosley was packed too. Cotto sells very well at the Garden.

              In Atlantic City as well.

He can probably sell better on the west coast now after the Margarito fight. Even though he was the loser, it was an epic fight that no one will ever forget.

                      wow i don't think that's true

Cotto fans are still licking their wounds to an extent but once he has a significant win under his belt again (fingers crossed he beats Clottey) i'm sure he will regain his full buzz
