But he takes rounds off and fights in spurts and doesn't hit that hard. I don't think he could win enough rounds. He'd take a round off and Calzaghe would never let him back in the fight. Calzaghe would be fairly comfortable I think.
Not a very interesting fight, imo. If Joe comes back, I don't realy want Dawson for him.

I think Dawson would clean up 168 if he moved down though.

fought a lil harder. The thing with Calzaghe is that he can captalize
off of Dawsons inactivity and has a good chin and Dawson doesn't
hit as massive as he could. You have to be crazy active against
Calzaghe to beat him. Dawson is fast but is slow enough to give
Bernhard time to counter and get into his rhythm and dictate the
fight between him and Chad. The ring experience of Berhnard and
Calzaghe could take away Dawson's youth and athleticism. Dawson
had Tarver hurt a couple of times and just couldn't capitalize on it
and let Tarver get back in the fight. On Dawson behalf tho, he can
take a punch cause Tarver clocked him a couple of times flush.
Dawson's youth and power should had made for a bigger challenge
for Tarver. I thought he was going to go for the KO.

I don't think Dawson is some super great fighter but I think he has come along at the super great time. He could conceivably spend the next five or so years fighting on HBO getting big paydays, with a big fight here and there but never REALLY having to risk much.
That is, of course, dependant on him being able to beat Glen Johnson.
Oh and yes Dawson would dominate Pavlik.
