Dawson definitely has stamina problems... Tarver made it hard for him but he needs to condition better, throw allot more and try to overwhelm people. He should have gotten Tarver out of there ffs. On the other hand his defense is phenomenal, if he could as his trainer said "make them pay after they miss" adding a counterpunching ability to that he would be even better. Tonight he fought like a good 40 year old, either he was too cautious managing his stamina or he is ****ed against someone like David Haye who throws lots of punches and combos. If you are that defensive you need to make ur opponent pay after they miss! Either that or use speed and volume of punches yourself.

I don't think his name nor reputation nor pedigree carry anywhere near enough reward for Calzaghe or Hopkins. The guy just doesn't seem like a very natural boxer. He fights in bursts and plants his feet when he flows his flurries, not sure he can box on the move yet. He's very athletic and strong and that will win him a lot of fights but I until he proves otherwise he doesn't look like anything special. As HBO said, and I think they maybe spot on, he is a B + fighter who can capitalize on a weak division. An impressive resume for a young fighter though ( Tarver x2, Johnson, Adamek) but I can't really see him making any huge improvements as he is a solid fighter but nothing is outstanding about him

I thought Tarver won more than 3 rounds in that fight.

I have it closer than that too. He won rounds 3, 5*, 7 and 11 and/or 12.

Just watched the second Tarver-Dawson fight. Tarver looked slow and old, but had his moments in the fight but Dawson simply outworked him. As far as Dawson being a great fighter goes I don't see it yet. He is very solid defensively and his workrate is good with combinations but he lacks one key ingredient, which is a killer instinct. Simply put, the man is too nice. If your name is "Bad Chad", live up to it or rename yourself "Polite Gentleman Chad" instead.
