To do this all he basically has to do is be somewhat likeable and engaging, and not play his usual routine.
Andy Rod**** was in a similar AT&T commercial as well and he is hot-head who doesn't have the same hype around him anymore who loses in the big game. Hellova serve though. And Floyd played the fool in that commercial.
I would have turned down that role.

A good publicist and team could get him on GQ, Esquire, put him in commercials where he is "Smart" and admirable...on prime-time TV shows, etc.

Of course, he would have to lose that bs gangsta role and lose Zab Judah.
There was a good interview with Zab a while back where he was respectable and even showed humility, but gansta Zab likes to come out to much. I guess that's him and he is keeping it real.

But hey, I'm not saying to be fake, but if there is a side to you that is more admirable, why not let that be the majority of yourself.

Time :57 Million Dollar Smile. He could have sold that to America but he had a **** team behind him and didn't know how to get an "in."

      • Freddie should know that inspiring Floyd is not a good idea. Just ask Ricky "I got abused for 10 rounds and knocked out in embarassing fashion" Hatton. And Floyd was numero uno p4p before he retired.

Floyd needs Zab though atleast until he fights Pacman. Zab is one of the better guys to have in camp for sparring to prepare for Manny.

I though the AT&T commercial was good because it actually showed Floyd in a different light, I think those adds are pretty funny.

Part of me says Floyd should play the villian to Manny and Mosley because both of those guys are the good guy types that can not play the villian role at all. To me good vs. bad is one of the better story lines you can sell to the public because people love to romantisize that kind of stuff. I do kind of agree with what you say though that could end up costing him down the road just to get the short term gains.

It will be an interesting choice he will have to make.

Funny thing is, I remember hearing Freddie saying nothing but nice things about Jr. He even said Jr. calls him Mr. Roach when they see each other. That was a while back so I don't know if things changed.
Although he also called Floyd ****ing boring, so...

The smart thing for Floyd right now is to reverse roles and play the humble good guy and don't reverse back to "MONEY MAY."
If he wants long term fortune, reverse now.

He has the fake gangsta, ego maniacal persona, that contrived chaos look at me im so bad shtick to perpetrate a exciting aura around him to compensate for the lack of excitement & drama in his actual fights & opponents.

Yes, very true. I also mentioned the quality sparring Zab could provide him.
Zab might be a good guy deep down inside; he just needs a hug.

Funny, yes, but were people laughing with Floyd or at Floyd?
See, everybody is different. Put a funny guy in that position and they laugh with the joke. Put someone like Floyd in it, and they may be laughing at him. Floyd's not the most liked guy.

He can do comedy acts but it has to be in a certain way where he is shown having fun with the joke.

Bottom line with Floyd is, just be himself for once. If this is just a character he plays to make more money for a fight by fight basis, he doesn't need to continue. Although, the "Bad Guy" act is better short-term gains but is short-term so good when he might be back for losing some money?
                That's when you think Long-term.

Floyd could get in on the fitness craze as well. Become a nice-guy and get an "in" with ***** Camp where he was said to be looked at before by them.
He could be that Fitness position or whatever you call it that Arnold used to do for so long.

He beats Pac, and he is even bigger...as long as he is humble since Pac is loved and might be future President of his country...possibly.

The Bad Guy with a conscience that goes Nice Guy. Many movies were made like this.

I remember watching the 1st & second morales vs pacquiao fight & distinctively seeing Fraud jr. in the front row cheering his ass off every time manny landed combos on morales.

yet as soon as pacquiao starts threatening fraud's jr status in the sport he goes fake gangsta on pacquiao & freddy & starts bad mouthing him.

He calls himself the greatest of all time yet his best wins are against old oscar, castillo 2x, corrales, hatton, & gatti. How many HOFers do u see in that list? Yet he's so great?

                      Fraudulent

He throws money around, flaunts his wealth on camera, changes his nickname to money mayweather, tell's people he's sooo rich, he's worth so much money, yet the IRS put a 6.1 mil tax lien against him.

                      Fraudulent

Unretires because he wants to claim back his throne & take on all comers claiming he will fight anybody he's the best blah, blah, blah. Yet he takes on a career featherweight but will say that he's p4p 2# & he called me out excuse.

                      Fraudulent

Says he wants to make money & enhance his legacy.Fighting marquez will only enhance the first part. Yet didnt fight mosley, cotto, pwill all who are in his division & are much bigger money & legacy fights.

                      Fraudulent

I think freddie just about got it right.
