why do you assume that i would think you're a floyd dude? i've read plenty of your posts to know that you're a philly-fighter guy first and foremost...
someone claiming a floyd victory over PAC, fine...i could see it...i myself can recognize floyd's brilliance...but to claim an 'easy' victory? i guess his 'annoying' fans have kept you from seeing PAC's brilliance
i thought you were more level headed than that...but hey, its your lost points...not mine
I'm picking Floyd to win because he has the greater skillset, it's honestly that simple.
His ability to adapt is also a huge factor in my bold prediction.
Surely we can all asume that whatever Manny throws at Floyd, Floyd can adapt to. It's his track record in the past, a measuring stick, of sorts.
He's always shown an ability to adapt to his opponet's gameplan, and overcome it.
He did it against Judah when he was losing the battle of handspeed and wits early on.
He did it when Hatton made him fight inside of a phone booth instead of a boxing ring.
Manny hasn't shown that ability to adapt.
Maybe he just hasn't had to yet, and I'm underating him in this department.
Ultimately, time will tell.
But to assume I'm picking Floyd just because Manny's huggers irritate me, is just silly.
I'm better than that.
If that were the case, I would've predicted a Hatton victory instead of this.......
There's no way a fighter of Manny's talent level should lose to a fighter of Ricky's talent level.
I just can't see any way Hatton wins. Pacquiao by TKO.Comment

all i have to say is that it's been more than 5 years since floyd has fought a fighter that we all knew going into the fight was going to pose some serious problems for him.
My theory on pacquiao beating mayweather is as simple as floyd has become complacent. Floyd has all the tools to beat pacquiao but i just simply dont think he remembers what it feels like to not be in complete control and going full pace for an entire 12 rounds.
Pacquiao will come into the fight looking to shock and awe. Sure floyd will adapt eventually and get a rythm going at some point, but the fact that pacquiao will simply not go away no matter how in control of the fight he is....all while avoiding flurries and bombs will push floyd's boxing mind to its limits. Sooner or later...he will have a lapse in concentration n get caught. Possibly multiple times....and we will see for possibly the 1st time in his entire career what kind of heart floyd has in there.Comment

I'd love to see Manny wipe the smug grin off Floyd's face, but I find it very difficult to back against Floyd.
The guy oozes talent. His defence is up there with the best I've seen in my lifetime. His punching is fast, accurate and often hits fighters when they least expect it. He takes no-one lightly and does his homework on every opponent. When the opening bell sounds he knows precisely where the weaknesses are and targets them mercilessly. His chin is rock solid and his fitness is never in doubt.
I'm sure Manny will bring plenty of heat down on Floyd in the early rounds. His southpaw stance and handspeed WILL cause Floyd a lot of problems. But by round four or five I expect Floyd will find his range and Pac will find it increasingly difficult to make headway. I'm still not sure whether Pac can take a punch at the higher weights (neither Oscar nor Hatton caught him with anything meaningful). If there are any weaknesses with his chin Floyd will probably win by KO else I expect a two or three round loss on the cards for Manny.Comment

I expect Pacquiao to win the first 2, maybe even the first 3 rounds against Floyd.
His southpaw stance, and fast hands will likely lead to him building an early lead and Floyd tests the waters and "warms up" to Manny's style.
By round 4 or 5, Floyd will have made the adjustments needed and he will start landing that right hand.
Juan Manuel Marquez proved that Manny is a sucker for the right hand.
Floyd's right will find it's home equally, ir not even more often that Marquez's.
And as Mugwump just pointed out, Manny's chin above 135 is still a question mark.
Oscar was never able to land, and Hatton landed next to nothing as well.
We all know Floyd can take a shot when he has to.
But can Manny?
I'm not saying he goes down on the first flush shot, I imagine the kid can take his share of leather licks.
But over and over again, it will begin to pile up.
That's another reason why I'm picking Floyd to score the TKO.Comment

that's only because you dislike hatton more than PAC
and of course we've seen floyd do more 'adapting' in his bouts than manny...as a defensive counter-puncher, his style almost makes it imperative that he adapt to his opponent's offense...
its the same thing as me saying 'manny turns up his volume and tenacity when he feels challenged' its the respective trademark and strength of each fighter
i just dont see this bout as anything but competitive...wipepout? nah, more like war
and lastly, whether its a formality or FOTY, i really have no opinion on floyd's chances with manny until he finishes business with the #2 p4p fighter on july 18thLast edited by -MAKAVELLI-; 05-07-2009, 04:58 AM.Comment

DAMN you!
Honestly, I'm pulling for Marquez to beat Floyd.
It's a slim possibility, but it's a possibility nonetheless.
I'm a much bigger fan of "Dinamita" than "Money".
My brain says Mayweather, but my heart wants Marquez.
So come fight night, I'll be supporting Juan Manuel.Comment
