Thread: This is what you see when you look at Floyd`s record: a bunch of cherry picked opponents, and only few of them were really worthy and gave something to Floyd`s resume... He is a very good fighter, he has a great record but it is not enough for becoming an ATG.

Marquez isn't a threat to Floyd at 143.

Marquez is a small lightweight, i personally feel he shouldn't go above 135.

Marquez has a ton of heart for taking this fight. He's a great fighter but is just too small to bother Floyd.

Jake Donovan took the liberty to write a column and change what SSS said to make PBF look good. Warp said it was a great article after I posted a "copy and paste" of what SSM REALLY SAID. I call it like i see it. I am entittle to my own opinion. If warp sill think I am wrong, go ahead and let him post the issue. I am not an infantile bias poster. Get off my huts!!!

Dude, the article places a link to another article, in which SSM only talks about the posibility of fighting PAC-HAtton winner SINCE PBF is going to fight JMM. It doesn't say SSM is not interested in fighting PBF. I bet that if PBF wanted to fight SSM, the fight would had been signed weeks ago.

Now is see the Big picture.... reason mayweather pick marquez instead of top WW coz mayweather wanna fight pacman to claim his throne and of course MONEY. big payday... coz IRS is after maywather jr. mayweather is even willing to drop to 143 or 144 for marquez fight... coz mayweather knows that
if he fight pacman they might demand a catchweight somewhere 143 to 144 lbs.

It doesnt matter who avoided who. Nobody really knows but shane & floyd. it doesnt matter what this writer said. Just because he wrote it doesnt make it true. Cmon now grustlah, fact of the matter is they didnt fight period. Floyd hasnt fought a credibly threatening opponent since zab judah. Thats zab judah. before that, jose luis castillo. Shane has taken on prime cotto, prime margarito, prime collazo. Mosley's roster of opponents dwarf's floyds.

I understand Floyd is after the money, after all his newer nickname is "Money". According to him, he is back because he missed the competition and excitement, and is fighting for respect and to prove he is indeed the greatest of all time. He said all of this in his recent return press conference. So if respect and proof he is the greatest is indeed his reason, why not go for the top Welterweights first? Does Marquez do anything for respect? Most people would be inclined to say no, myself included.

So which is it? Respect? Or money? If he wants respect, fight and beat the top WW's in Mosley and Cotto. Unify WW then fight Pacquiao for P4P. All that could be done by the end of this year had he not chosen to fight the smaller man in Marquez.

SSM let ODLH fight PBF first, that was publicly expressed by both business partners. Before that, PBF and SSM never came to an agreement for a fight cause they both bull****ted each other. Whatever happened to the dentist and the vacations stories...

Larry is not discrediting PBF. Larry like most fans, writers and other boxing experts WOULD LOVE TO SEE PBF agaisnt better opponents. We got a right to question him. PBF just keeps ducking even questions when he is asked. Or is it that you believe that the PBF-Baldo fight was any good. or is it that you thought ODLH and Hatton had a chance agaisnt PBF. IMO, those fights were like PBF said; "It's easy money in my pockets...".
