These are the chances great fighter take and what puts them in the history books. Many will disagree and claim Floyd one of the best ever, but I'll bet my last dollar that Floyd will be remembered more for who he didn't fight than who he did if he doesn't start making great fights soon.
But few care about looking at the details of what is taking place. If Floyd loses, most will not remember or think that the layoff may have had something to do with it. If I debate his injuries or that he may be on the slide, few seem to take notice and care; they just see the "O" so he is Perfect.

Plus, a Great General understands when to fight and if he loses because he miscalculates, goes into battle before he is ready...that's a mark against his Generalship.

You have to go into a fight knowing you may die so if you know that, give yourself the best possible chance of living on by being at your best and winning.

Floyd already goes into fights with weapons that could break at any point in the fight so he needs to be at his best to give him his best shot to win. He only has so many bullets he can throw now and his legs aren't young anymore so he has to stand his ground more and in order to do that, your body has to be adjusted to taking the punishment again. And he also has to see where he is at Mentally (as well as Physically) in order to see if the greater battle can be won.

      to face

      a superfeatherweight?

Not even a bottom tier welter,

      but a 130 pound fighter.
      Broken record..........

And we werent talking about Juanma either.

Juama is a up and comer who is still proving himself and is fighting a natural 118 champion at 122(wich he has fought before in that weight and said feels more conftrable, at.

You get more respect if you just say its because he's puerto rican. At least then you would be telling the truth.

Cotto is scheduled to fight Pacman next....thats a bigger mismatch then Floyd fighting him.

It has everything to do with how Floyd acts, which is just an act itself. This is common sense. Berto can continue fighting nobodies and as long as he is soft spoken he wont be treated the same way.

A fight with Cotto should have happened but what has Plasterman ever done? His best win is questioned...
