If Dawson doesn't give Johnson the rematch he deserves, I'd like to see him fight a younger guy, someone named Tavoris Cloud. That's a fight I can see Dawson possibly getting KTFO in actually. Would be a war though

dawson should beat hopkins but the most vital thing he needs is PATIENCE, he's not a veteren like calzaghe so the mind games and negative style might unsettle him along with hopkins' dirty tactics, he wins if he keeps it together.

Tarver is complete garbage and will be "destroyed" yet once again. Only thing he ever did was get Roy's number.

Perfect timing on his part. Just like Calzaghe... Perfect timing.....

According to some he's STILL just a "NEW" guy whos not ready.....

He's really no different than he was in his 3rd fight with Roy. Face it, Tarver lost the motivation to train hard after he fought Roy the first time, he never again came back with that kinda speed.
Tarver did seem to decline after the Jones rematch, although against Dawson he actually seemed like he wanted to win. Weather or not that has to do with Hopkins, I'm not sure about. For some reason against Hopkins he didn't even let his hands go from the first round until the end, against Dawson he landed some good power shots and he was actually the one pressing the fight in the last round, he just seemed like was alive in that fight. Hopkins could possibly have something to do with that, but to me Tarver seemed much more stronger against Dawson.

Hopkins of 2003 would be a different story, but still even though Hops might lose I'd still love to see this fight. And obviously I'd like to see milk dud laid out on the floor, I mean who wouldn't cheer for that.

he didn't let his hands go against Hopkins because he couldn't. Why do you think Pavlik had the exact same problem?? Hopkins is a harder opponent to hit, has much better defense than Dawson. Dawson got hit with solid shots because he was there to be hit at times, hopkins was never there.

IMO that would be a technical mismatch, but of course Cloud has the power so that makes things interesting, but of course Adamek and Tarver only had power to bank on.

First off, Tarver is a counter puncher for the most part, so he was waiting a bit in the Hopkins fight trying to feel him out. Unfortunately for him, once he was forced to swing, he was reminded why Hopkins was so dominant in his career. He's a great defensive fighter. Combine that with Hopkins timing Tarver off his jab, and you have the typical Hopkins opponent cry.
"IT WASN'T ME IN THERE, I COULDN'T DO WHAT I WANTED TO DO. IT'S NOT BECAUSE OF HIM, IT'S BECAUSE OF ME!"
Nono Tarver, it's because of him. That's what a master does in there, he takes you out your gameplan and gets into your head. And Tarver had some decent attempts in the first few rounds, after that Hopkins took the man's confidence away though.
