Dawson Hoping Hopkins is Next After Tarver Rematch

I don't think its out of the question for Bernard to receive a beating here. Hes 44 years old and there comes a time when an old legend just miscalculates badly and takes on the wrong kind of opponent. Just look at Ali/Holmes or Leonard/Norris.

You cant just go by a number though. I mean Ali and Leonard were already fading badly by the times they took their last beatings, not too mention both of them were in wars and took several beatings or took lots of punishment throughout their careers. Hopkins has never received a lot of punishment, never been hurt badly, never took a beating, **** he's never even been CUT before. Add to that hopkins is a defensive guru, is an Albert Einstein when it comes to his ring IQ and is crafty & cagey as hell, all that considered it just leaves me to the conclusion that Dawson cannot give hopkins a bad beating. Unless something terrible happened like hopkins is sick or gets the flu, it just seems very unlikely especially considering what type of Fighter Dawson is (more of a counter puncher/throws combo's is spurts).

Also, i don't think rankings has anything to do with it. I don't think Hopkins was ranked in the top 10 when he beat Trinidad, who at the time was number one i believe.

I already mentioned that hopkins being ranked higher on the p4p list doesn't mean dawson wouldn't win, it just shows that hopkins at 44 is still fighting on an elite level.

He wouldn't get a bad beating, but he has slowed down, and he had a lot of trouble with the last two fighters he faced with very fast handspeed.
