I have no problem with him being #5 at MW, like other posters have said....its a weak division. You also have to take in account his fights at that weight early in his career.

The Winky fight isn't gonna help much either since winky has been unranked for long time now.
That what Im saying. Thats all.

I know, that he is the 3rd best MW, but you have to actually beat somebody who is actually ranked in the top 10, to get to be top 10, much more top 5!!!!!!!!

I think the rankings are fine just the way they are and the thing is outside the ring top 3 in every division a lot of times those lower ranked fighters are just gate keepers but still deserve to be in the top 10. I think you see all these talented fighters that are better than the veteran fighters that are raked ahead of them but the problem is that a lot of those younger fighters have yet to put together a body of work that justifies a high ranking. Some of these old warhorses may be on the way down a lot of the times but they have a body of work that a lot of these younger fighters don't have.

I disagree. Did you see the Wright fight? Winky is reletively boring to watch, Williams made that fight fun....and against one of the best middlweights out there. If that had been a lesser fighter with leaky defense, Williams would have stopped him. On top of that he's a nice kid. Lets see how HBO markets him.

I always knew Williams was good, but something always nagged at me about him. Maybe the Quintana fight. But after seeing his domination of Winky Im convinced nobody below 160 beats him. Not Shane, Cotto or Floyd.

I'd like to see Williams-Pavlik. I would still favor Kelly, but it not the mismatch I once thought it to be and would be very entertaing.

I agree that there probably are not 5 middleweights in the world that would beat him, but he shouldn't be ranked on the basis of one great performance against an inactive fighter now matter how highly regarded he may be. Ranking him no. 5 atMW is like presuming he would beat all of the other guys he jumped in the rankings, even though he most likely would. Still it is just a theoretical presumption until he actually does beat one, some, or maybe all of those fighters.....we had a discussion like this before.
