"In 2001 Ali said in an interview with the New York Times, 'I said a lot of things in the heat of the moment I shouldn't have said, called him names I shouldn't have called him. I apologise for that, I am sorry, it was meant to promote the fight.' Dower's documentary finds Frazier in no mood for forgiveness."

p.sListen you guys..
bOxing is the Sweet ART OF WAR...
THAT **** aint a game. People get hurt.
IF YOU can BEAT YOUR OPPONENT BEFORE THE FIGHT EVEN BEGINS....
you do it.
Ali was the best ever at winning the fight before the belt even rang...
and that means saying **** that the normal person wouldnt say...
this means going inside a person comfort zone and removing everything they hold dear to them...
This is what seperates the greats from the very good.
This is why People win and why people lose.
One guy has to be willing to say **** being politically correct. My life is on the line, and i have to make sure i make my opponent focuses on everything but boxing before he fights me...
And thats what Ali did the best...
And this is why he is the greatest..
P.S
why is larry holmes in this ****...
I thik that Ali really **** Joe frazior in the head for life...
i mean you can see in this show....Comment

No problem. I love Ali too.
I just see him for what he is, and not what I want him to be.
One minute you complain that they don't talk about Ali's good deeds enough, and then you respond with this : Something completely unrelated to your original post, and basically just a rant about the power of mind games.
Everybody knows about Ali's good deeds. But people also need to know about his bad deeds, he was not the saint that his followers make him out to be. He was a very mean spirited person when he wanted to be.
This documentary tells that part of the story. If you don't like it, don't watch it.
I know many Ali fans will avoid it like the plague because it will begin to deliver a little bit of context and balance to the entire picture.Comment

The documentary was a little sensational I'd say if that's the right word to use.
Lets not forget that Frazier did his best to anger Ali also.
I don't think Frazier was ever really a friend of Ali's, he just wanted to get Ali in the ring and beat him. He did exactly that and in my opinion should have probably retired after the first Ali fight. The fire just wasn't there afterwards except for the Thrilla in Manila of course.Comment

If Frazier was never really Ali's friend, why did he give him money to support his family when he was in exile? The documentary was a little sensational I'd say if that's the right word to use.

You can argue that maybe he wanted Ali's license back just so he could fight him.
But I don't think you can argue about Frazier helping support Ali when he was exiled and forced to do cheap plays and college speaking engagements for quick cash.Comment

But "Uncle Tom"? "Gorilla"?The documentary was a little sensational I'd say if that's the right word to use.

What Ali did to Joe Fraizor was all before the fight. and after every fight he gave joe friazor his credit.
Once Again:
IF YOU can BEAT YOUR OPPONENT BEFORE THE FIGHT EVEN BEGINS....
you do it.
Ali did it.
Hopkins did it
Floyd did it..
What Frazior is doing now is fucck up....Frazior is not fighting Ali anymore..
but he is wishing Ali the worst **** in the world...
Frazior is walking around with hate in his heart.Last edited by Horus; 04-11-2009, 08:32 PM.Comment
