Its like saying that if Mayweather fights a bigger Paul Williams and loses he's not the best P4P fighter.
If Manny were bigger it would be a little different story, but he's moving up in weight alot. He's only fought once in 135lbs and once in 147lbs and this coming from a fighter that started his career in 107lbs compare to Mayweather 130lbs.
Everytime I see that "started his career at 106 pounds" line, I immediately recognize someone who doesn't know the sport very well.

Manny was 16 years old when he turned pro at 106. Right? He turned pro due to need as many do in poor countries.

When Floyd was 16, he won the National Golden Gloves. Guess at what weight? 106.

The reality is that they are the same size TODAY. That is all that matters. Manny has been 148 on fight night. Floyd was 148 on fight night for Hatton, and he weighed in 150 for Oscar and then dropped. Floyd could EASILY make 140. Easily.

They are the same size. No excuses.

Floyd needs to do something significant before he can be catapulted atop of the P4P rankings.

He sure as hell doesn't become P4P #1 just by muttering the words, "I'm back".

No way would i go against Pac in that fight! I cant remember when Hatton had me in awh in a fight in some time.... Ive heard some excuses but seen little lately. Pacquiao..Ive heard nothing...and seen a lot. If Pac don't stop Hatton I believe Hatton will get beat up bad. If The old Hatton comes to the ring...We gonna see a fight break out in this boxing match..

Well i wont argue if he is put straight back at number 1, aint like he lost it but i guess he lost it when he retired so should earn it back. Put him #3....make him earn it back lol.

Floyd is in the same position as Jordan, when Jordan retire the first time after he won 3 championships and he said he was bored with the sport.

Jordan wasnt the greatest ever at that point, but he was on the cusp of becoming that, but at that time Jordan was the best in the sport when he retired. And when he returned although he had been retire for 2 years, he still was the best in the sport even though Hakeem Olajuwon was dominating when Jordan was gone.

                      It is like this.

Generally Once you are considered the best, you do not lost that position in the people's mind until you lose in convincing fashion.

It happen with Tyson when he return to boxing after he went jail. he was still considered #1 even though he didnt fight for what 3 years.
but when he came back, he still was #1 in the people and majority of the sport mind that he was #1.

It Happen with Ali when he got banned from boxing. He came back @1
It Happen SRL when he retired from boxing because of his eye. He came back @1

and it will happen with Floyd when he comes back.
It is just the way it is...

Once Floyd comes back to the sport he will have all the expectations of being the #1 fighter in sport. MARK MY WORDS..

People will treat floyd the same way they treated him before he retired.as the #1 fighter in the sport.

they will treat him as the #1 fighter in the sport.

I CAN BET you all the money in the world.. that all the people who voted For Pacquiao in this thread.

Will all treat Mayweather to a highher standard than Pacquaio once Mayweather returns....Although they say in public that they think Pacquaio is the number #1 fighter in the sport..

They will treat Mayweather as the #1 fighter in the sport, although all the time they will say Pacquaio is #1...?????

That is not Logical, and it will be a contradiction...on their part...

Once again once Mayweather returns, he will be the #1 fighter in the sport and he will be treated as such with the expectations of the fans and sports writers.
