JMM has no choice but to accept the Valero fight and unify the lightweight titles. Arum controls Pac and the winner may have a shot at him if JMM plays ball. It's a logical promotion because chances are if Pac wins against Hatton he's gonna go after Mayweather Jr. and JMM will be left out in the cold.

Unification of 135 might be as good as it ever gets for JMM. Arum will not give JMM a direct match with Pac when Mayweather & Cotto are still out there. As good as JMM is he will never be a megastar unfortunately.

For Valero, JMM is definitely a step up in competition but it's really necessary because KOing guys like Casamayor, Katsidis, Khan & Diaz will be worthless since they've all been sparked recently already.

It's possible but I suspect if Hatton gets destroyed badly he might call it a day. Even if Hatton does fight again it won't be this year. I highly doubt Pac/Hatton will make it 12 rounds. Someone is getting KTFO either way.

JMM has nothing to prove in the LW division because he did what he needs to do to prove he is the king in that division. But he needs to fight at least the likes of Bradley or Holt before facing the winner of Pac-Hatton in the JWW div. Since LW will soon dried up from top boys, Valero needs too to go with the tide by hunting top boys in the JWW by let's say first facing Khan.

Yep, I agree with that! Even still though, Marquez has more options. He could always go up to 140 anyways and challenge Timothy Bradley. If he wins, it'd be a historical event for Mexican boxing since he'd become the first fighter from that country to win titles in four divisions. At that point, he either finally gets the superfight he craves, or retires of old age...still a four-division champ.

Arum is a clown. He has 10,000 guys for Valero to fight but he wont put them in the ring with him, yet he picks out JMM because he's now with Oscar. I just saw a story today about how Arum wants to keep his guys around LW away from eachother. Now he wants JMM? I bet if JMM was with Arum then he wouldnt be talking about this fight
