Valero Will Fight Marquez Anywhere, Says Bob Arum

Top Rank's Bob Arum says the record needs to be set straight in the lightweight division. Last weekend in Austin, Texas, knockout king Edwin Valero (25-0, 25KOs) captured the WBC lightweight title by stopping Antonio Pitalua in two rounds. Now Valero has set his sights on the big names at the weight. One name in particular is WBO/WBA champion Juan Manuel Marquez. [details]

Valero is for real and I think Marquez needs this fight, I like both guys and is going to be a very great fight. What I like with Valero is that he aint wasting time and wants the best and thats what we also want.

Who promotes Valero? Arum wants a JMM-Valero fight. I'd go with JMM, he impressed me with the KO win over Juan Diaz.

Valero needs to worry about facing an actual live body in the ring before messing with Juan Manuel.

Forget all this "he beat up (insert fighter here) during sparring" **** I keep hearing.

Sparring and fight night are as different as night and day.

Guzrun is boring and can't make weight. Plus he's old and on his way out.

Marquez doesn't need to prove anything, Valero is the one who needs to prove himself to earn the right to fight JMM.
It doesn't make sense the #2 P4P fighting an up and comer who has barely won his first title.
Face it JMM wants Pac and only has a little time, he isn't getting any younger.
