I think what you meant to say is that it takes two to POONtango, lol. But yeah, Hopkins must be smoking crack based on these remarks.
Most Mexican fighters probably do know who Adamek is and prefer his fighting style a lot better to Popkins.
He's so full of himself in this interview its disgusting...just retire already you conceited old bastard.

He doesnt want to fight Adamek, its clear. He knows what hes doing, he been doing it for years. He stays away from fighters his own size.
Hopkins called out Adamek. If you missed it, Hopkins approached Schaefer and told him he wants to challenge Adamek at Cruiserweight. It was on NSB not too long ago.

Funny how now everyone is defending Adamek because he's the bigger draw, but no one was defending Hatton when Pacquiao was asking for a ridiculous 60-40 split when Hatton alone will bring 15k Brits to vegas. Hell, when Hatton fights in vegas, It's like a mini-UK over there. That was a low ball offer and Pacquiao should be happy he got a 50-50 split. Now Adamek gets a low ball offer but it's a big deal because of his drawing power. Funny characters on here. Do you know how marketable Adameks' name will be, win or lose after the Hopkins fight?

If Golden Boy offered Main Events 60-40, the fight had a better chance of being made. As it was, based on the reported 6 million potential revenue, $500K is about a 92-8 split. Kathy Duva made the only sensible response to an unrealistic offer. Props to her is all I can say.

Bottom line: Bernard has lost a fight with a credible title holder he thinks he can beat.

You're absolutely right on the $6 million offered by HBO. Tell me something, what other fighter would get HBO to offer $6 mill to fight Adamek? Hopkins brings more money to the table, the 6 mill would have not bring presented to Ademk vs another opponent. HBO would offer $6 mil for Hopkins vs several opponents.

Adamek and his team were absolutely correct in not taking that offer. I would have said a 65-35 split would have been acceptable in favor of Hopkins. The man is a legend and has earned his stature, and that alone is the price you would need to consider in the possibility of beating a legend and having that name on your resume. Whether Adamek was able to do that remains a question we may never know the answer to, but you have to sacrifice, even if it's unfair, to get ahead in life sometimes. The good news is Glen Johnson vs Adamek is a MUCH better fight, and it's in the works as a possibility. I'm going to say Glen takes it in a Fight of the Year candidate.

RJJ would be slaughtered by Hopkins now. The time for that fight was around 2001, when it would have been a fabulous fight and they were both at their peaks. Now it would be a pointless fight that would just make Roy look bad for no purpose, like Ali-Holmes.

HBO might pay $3 million for Tarver-Adamek but Adamek getting 50% is $1.5 million which looks a lot better that what Golden Boy was offering. Similarly, a 60-40 split in a Dawson rematch for $3 million total still nets Adamek $1.2 million. For Kathy Duva, these realistic options allow her to decline Golden Boy's offer.

What Bernard brings to the table is moot unless he can land an opponent willing to accept a 92-8 split. Main Events felt Adamek deserved a bigger share. I agree.
