all this **** about "this fighter was not himself during the fight blah blah, he was not 100% blah blah" if thats your excuse then we should say tszu was not himself in that fight, or corrales was not himself when fmj fought him he was weight drained etc etc. pavlik and margarito were not themselves when they fought and lost? or leonard was not himself when he fought duran or duran was not himself when he fought hearns?. is that the excuse of a great boxer or a fan of the sport? a fighter looses because the other guy is the better man that night, they are professionals and earn a lot more than we do and has hired professionals to look out for their well-being before and during the fight. if they screwed up, dont make excuses people. a lose is a lose, they committed a tactical error and they should pay for it and be man enough to admit defeat.

Being past prime is one thing but being past prime and dehydrated/weight drained is a totally different thing.

Yes, when Hatton beat Tszyu, Tszyu was past his prime. But that does not mean he couldn't throw punches with power and move around the ring and still be a difficult opponent for Hatton.

ODLH was badly dehydrated, so was physically and mentally weaker, and was not a tough opponent for Manny or anyone else at welterweight.

Stop ignoring the facts and making up excuses.

Let's get one thing straighten out. Dehydrated means when you're trying lose pounds overnight in a hurry! Oscar was there (145 lbs.) weeks before the fight, and I don't buy this Pacman was heavier the night of the fight bs. We all got our own set of eyes, Oscar was the heavier guy out there, if you don't believe me, watch the fight again...

I hate these excuses... If you feel you are weight drained, past prime, or shot, why bother fighting? Just quit...

These PAC haters are funny, trying to discredit Pac's win over DLH because they believe he was not "himself"...

Well, if we can use their same logic, Malignanni was obviously not "himself" when he fought Hatton.... Neither was Castillo.... Nor was Tszu "himself" either.... I think Hatton was lucky to fight such diminished fighters...

In retrospect, I know even Freddy Roach at the present "could have" beaten these guys Hatton beat...

I don't know about the Collazo fight though. Collazo is tough, he definitely gave Ricky a fight.

                  Paco's too fast for Hatton.

I know what you're saying, but being dehydrated will affect anyone negatively, and so Hatton is right to downplay Pac's win over DLH as its not that impressive because he was weight drained. FACT.

If DLH was not dehydrated, and Pac won in the same manner, then the win could not be downplayed. But that is not the case, and Hatton is correct in what he is saying.

Saying that Hattons win over Malignaggi should be downplayed is just ridiculous, as he was in the same good condition as he has been in all his fights. There was nothing negatively affecting Malignaggi, with the exception of weak fists, but this has always been his weakness.
