To me this is just Arum trying to save face with Miguel. He knows Miguel is pissed about how he has been treated and is trying to get on his good side. Pacquaio V Mayweather would do much more in PPV and revenue and that will be the fight that happens. Arum just trying to make his star boxer happy, which wont happen. Cotto needs to leave this bum and do his own thang.

I suspect his bad blood with Al Hayman has at least as much to do with it, probably more.

Plus Cotto-Pac makes Arum more money and is easier to make because both are under his banner.

Bob knows all he known that Cotto is talking with Golden Boy and he not want to lose Cotto and if Pac dares to fight with Cotto he have a big heart so Floyd have to earned the right to fight, nobody tell him to retired so stop running Mosley and then the winners fight next year!

              My UNBIAS Business opinion

Bob Arum is talking CRAP. No matter how much you want to hate on Floyd Mayweather Jr and love Miguel Cotto, there is NO WAY IN HELL that Pac/Cotto out sells Pac/Mayweather. Floyd has 2 of the biggest paydays and PPV#'s in history. Cotto is very entertaining and cool but Floyd personality calls for attention and there always have to be two opposites
to sell a fight and that's why Floyd/Oscar sold big (Opposites) Floyd/Hatton (Opposites) Cotto/Pac would be two nice guys and indeed it will do well but Floyd would out sell Cotto by far.

The former P4P king coming out of retirement to fight the current one? HUGE. Manny gives his $ to the poor, Floyd flashes his $ and brags/boast? HUGE. Manny's a nice guy, Floyd is an arrogant guy, talking smack to Manny? Everyone would be curious to see how Manny would handle Floyd's trash talking.

You guys are bugging if you think Cotto would out sell Floyd.
I know that you don't like Floyd but lets stay in the realms of reality. Floyd is a better business man than Miguel Cotto & knows how to market himself better. Bob Arum only gains from Pac/Cotto the most. For the record Freddie Roach sounds nervous about Pac fighting Floyd and not just saying that either. Freddie Roach is good at finding holes in fighters to
give Manny the edge and don't think he saw any in Floyd but again that is just my UNBIAS business opinion

I agree, but for whatever reason it is pretty clear that arum will not risk his cashcows against floyd.

roach would make a fight w/ floyd if floyd would lower his purse demands though

just read the comments on pacman and hatton threads if you see more people rooting for hatton than pac.he could probably about 5 to 1 underdog

That's because (a) most neutrals think Pac will win, and (b) a lot of Hatton fans think Pac will probably win. It says nothing about how many paying fans each boxer has.

Malignaggi/Cotto was on the undercard of Hopkins/Tarver and for the Cotto/Judah they actually had to add an extra 3,000 seats at the Garden. You don't even mention Cotto/Margarito. Also, most of the time the undercard has to do a lot with it. If the undercard sucks, why pay $50 for just one good fight? I do agree that Mayweather/Pac will sell more because of the p4p issue. The thing is that a lot of people buy FMW ppv because they want to see him get beaten(I'm one of them). Too bad he never fights the best to be able to see that.
