Mayweather vs. Pacquiao is NOT The Plan, Says Arum

[QUOTE=methyleneDMA;4968452]Bob Arum just has no shame in his game. He lies as easily as he breathes. Im no floyd fan but there is no fight out there in boxing bigger than Floyd vs Pac. NONE.
THE FIGHT DOES A MINIMUM 3 MILLION PPVS.....MINIMUM.
U can say all u want about floyd, but his ppv numbers dont lie, 2.4 mill vs oscar biggest in history, 800k vs hatton, before that he averages around 500-400k fighting bums like judah & baldomir. Imagine what will happen when he fights a legitimate superstar who also happens to have a superstar fanbase.
I dont know what arum's angle or reasoning for saying such a bold face lie. No fight out there is bigger than pac vs floyd. Only way the fight goes to **** is if floyd loses/looks bad in his tune up outing.[/QUOT
I agree with most of what you said. One correction, though. Mayweather-Hatton did 800,000 in the U.S. It did 1.4 million in England, bringing the total to 2.2 million worldwide.

Ali became a really huge draw only after everyone had heard of him because of his stance against the Vietnam war. Doesn't matter why everyone had heard of him, the fact is that if everyone has heard of someone, they are more likely to tune into into their fights. That's how any business works.
Hatton has such a big following in the UK because he goes on speaking tours and makes a lot of jokes, and people like his personality, and then they tune into his fights, not because they know anything about boxing but because they like the man.

pac is 135 pounder at the most. floyd is a 147. 12 pound difference
how about they make a catch weight at 160 and put floyd against bernard? it's only a 13 pound difference, plus bernard would be weight drained!
seriously, stop the lame theories. pac will get slaughtered by any fast WW. if he intends to get killed, then at least get killed while producing an entertaining fight
