Good point. Fighters are still people. They're not robots or anything. If a fighter gives it his all, and it's just not in the cards for him that night then I have no problem with him walking away. There's no reason to risk your life.

Just because pacman did a better job making his opponent look like **** doesn't mean Oscar wasn't trying.

Like I said sometimes we have so much love/hate for a fighter we are quick to call him a coward when they are getting there ass kicked and they retire from the fight.

Even Nacho Bernstein who's opinion means more to me than then all the posters on this board combined said Oscar needed to quit.

How do you determine what is bad for your long term health in the middle of a boxing match? Is Oscar a Dr?

Personally there are times when it is alright, other when it is not.

Oscar should not be excused, he was never off his feet and did not take a single count. He quit, not because of his health, but because he wanted to deprive his opponent of a thrilling knockout.

Look how many men took their medicine at the hands of Oscar and went out on their shields like real fighters. The pretty boy thinks he is above the game.

If he is referring to that, then this thread FAILS

So his entire corner telling him to quit had nothing to do with it?

yeah because boxers can't die from head trauma caused from punches to the head.

Ugh Oscar wasn't even in the fight, and there is a big diffrence between tough and impossiable.

Oscar wouldn't have beat Manny that night even if they gave him a steele chair and factor in his corner begging him to quit and you have a boxer who would have taken needless damage in a fight he had no chance of winning.

Those are the kinds of fights where fighters get hurt.

I don't see why a fighter has to risk injury to somehow prove his mascualinity when the sheer fact that he's getting in the ring makes him more of a man than 99% of the Earth's population.

Some of you guys need to realize the boxing isn't and shouldn't be a life a death struggle. It's a ***ing sport and even if every boxing fan in the world fell over and died there would still be people in gym's learning the sweet science out of sheer love for the sport.

                    Grow up people.
                    SRR is black...

Latinos are supposed to be made of tougher stock apparently.
