Former three division champion Marco Antonio Barrera says that his fight with Amir Khan should have been stopped in the first round. During the action in round one, a clash of heads opened up a huge gash on Barrera's head. Barrera says the cut was no better in the first than it was in the fifth. He couldn't see from the first round on. The fight was evantually stopped in the fifth, with Barrera losing a one-sided technical decision. [details]
Barrera is right he was'nt really getting hit at all until that headbutt. The fight would've been alot different without the cut. Barrera's timing was there he just could'nt see. If Kahn's a man he''ll give a rematch imediatleyComment

There was no 'headbutt', there was an accidental clash of heads. That was pure bull**** from both Don King and, I'm sad to say, Barrera. I doubt Khan would actually have a problem with a rematch if there was any benefit from the point of view of lining him up for a title shot - which, of course there isn't. I do doubt that Barrera would want one, let's see if he calls for it.
Khan can't fr*gging win. Apparently to 'prove himself' he has to rematch both those fighters he beats AND those who beat him. If he isn't going to be 'proven' until he avenges every defeat, rematches every win and beats Diaz and Marquez into the bargain, what's the point in even trying?Comment

I agree he should, but he won't. He should rematch Prescott to, but he won't.Comment

He should of done what Marquez did against Jandaeng and Jaca...went out and finished them.
Obliviously he isn't good enough.Comment

pretty good speed? Are you kidding? man had one of the fastest hands i have ever seen.Say what you will about the result of this fight, but it didn't prove Khan is world class. All it showed was that Khan had pretty good speed against a one-eyed fighter. How can anyone pretend that cut didn't affect the result? And how convenient was it for Khan that the doc stopped it in the fifth round? This really should have been a NC, that's all there is to it.Comment

he seemed perfectly fine after he realized the 5th round would be the last. he tried his best to ko khan but khan was always out of range. cut or no cut, Khan would have beaten barrera.Former three division champion Marco Antonio Barrera says that his fight with Amir Khan should have been stopped in the first round. face facts barrera got whacked plain and simple.. no point bitching about a cut after the fight, fighters get cut day in day out and carry on like he did and thats life so take the decision like a man.. he says he didnt feel his punches yet in some of the shots it looked like barrera's head was going to fall off of his shoulders as his head was being rocked back. he should now retire..Comment
