OK, thanks Dave! It all makes sense now.

      Good post.

If Barrera didn't tell the referee he wanted to go on, the fight would have been stopped. He has nothing to complain about. You can talk about pride, but there is more pride in admitting defeat and fighting Khan again in a rematch, than there is to carry on fighting and being used as a punchbag.

        This was Barrera's doing.

            True...

Defeating an old, smaller man who was blind in one eye from a nasty cut, really proved nothing at all.

Khan will be KOed again when he next faces a prime, world-class lightweight.

On the broadcast you couldn't hear what MAB was saying. The doctor probably asked if he COULD go on and he said yes because it was physically possible for him to go on. Its up to the doctor and ref decide if he SHOULD go on, and in that case they should have stopped it.

Completely unfair fight (I was pulling for Khan), and one in which Khan didn't prove very much.

I'm a huge MAB fan but over the years he's made some crazy excuses after losing fights!

He done it with Jones and he done it with Pacquiao.

what the hell do you mean he is not acting like a PRO?? He is right that cut had him all ****ed up since the first round. You mean to tell me that he could see well enough. amhir kahn is not some great fighter don't get it twisted. Would amhir have won if it had gone into the later rounds?? That we will never know. look at the cotto/marg fight cotto was landing everything in the first half of the fight. Being a pro is not quitting when the **** goes wrong and that's is why he kept fighting. It is the refs job to manage the fight and he is right. They carried that fight for him and he knows it( AMHIR). Re-match with prescott that would be actin like a pro. Barrera has rematched everyone he lost to except JMM. So before you start talking about acting like a pro think abou the circumstances a little

the fight should hav been stopped in the 1st round. the ref let it continue on to the 5th round so it would not be a no-contest. thats home town cooking 4 ya

He's right, they should have stopped it. He's not going to quit because he has dignity but they should have stopped it.

They let the match continue past the 4th so it could go to the score cards. So their little golden boy could win.
