just got home from the fight now. tbh berrera looked shot from the first bell, taking nothing away from khan however he looked very impressive. the fight being stopped on the cut was annoying, the referee and officials blatantly let this one go on passed 4 rounds so it could go to the scorecards. if it had been declared a NC there would of been a riot.Comment

Some people are sick, it's sad. Khan has it in perspective, though. He said tonight:
"Beating a man like Barrera almost makes you feel humble but it doesn't mean I am ready yet for a world title fight. I know there is still work to be done"
If Khan has even a tenth as good a career as Barrera has had, he'll have done well.Comment

Are you being serious man, Good win for Amir, but Barrera was a shell of his former self and he got cut BADLY in the first round. Not as great a win as you are proclaiming it to be.Comment

Good article in The Ring.
They agree with me that he's nowhere near ready for any of the elite Lightweights yet:
Despite his excellent performance, the jury is still out on how soon Khan should go for a world title or even a world-ranked contender.
Khan (20-1, 15 knockouts) has considerable physical tools: height (5-foot-10), speed, hand-eye coordination, and good power. Under Roach’s guidance the British star has tightened his once shaky defense and will no doubt continue to improve his technique.
But given the deep and dangerous field at lightweight, Khan still needs seasoning before challenging world lightweight champ Juan Manuel Marquez, and top contenders like Juan Diaz, Ali Funeka, Joel Casamayor, Julio Diaz, and Edwin Valero.
Barrera, a veteran of 72 pro fights coming into Saturday’s bout, had experience but he wasn’t able to impart any of it to Khan because he was never in the fight.Comment
