I know! He's without a doubt one of the most technically gifted & naturally talented fighters I've ever seen. Proper old-skool as well!

a modern ATG who ithink we would rank up there ahead of SRL and hagler, for a guy his size he had great powr and a very good chin - which is what has helped him at HW. its hisboxing brainthoguh that sets him apart from the others

freddy roach recently said tht he was without doubt the most talented fighters hes ever worked with - that includes the likes of tyson and pacman

Speaking of Toney, it's kind of crazy how people claim fighters of today would kick old-school fighters asses but when you look at fighters like Toney, Floyd, Jones, Hopkins, Barrera, Ricardo Lopez, etc...they all borrowed their style heavily from fighters from the old school.

              Very true.

Boxing must be the only sport though where today's athletes are not necessarily better than those of yesteryear.

Tony + dedication = a great 168 lb fighter that would always have lost to Roy but otherwise been great

Tony + burger king = a decent heavyweight in an era of ****ty heavyweights who is lucky he never faced one of the klits

damn man - all of a sudden i think a hopkins vs toney superfight at 185 is worth salvaging!!!

we could have had such a good era of superfights if only toney and RJJ hadn't gone up to HW

Toney vs Hopkins would certainly have been very interesting.

I remember when they were so close to making that fight happen after Toney battered Jirov. Aww man, that would have been incredible. Honestly though, I think Toney would've won handily but it would've been a war.
