Tell me who did Hopkins fight before facing Jones that he could've lost to? Jones was his first step up in class.

Jones struggled quite a bit in that fight before putting Malinga away. Not sure what you're implying there. Yeah, he stopped him in six. Hopkins stopped that guy you posted up in three.

Jones wasn't in his prime when he fought Hops - you can see it in his style, everything. Compare that version of Roy to any version from 96 onwards and it's apparent, whether he beat Toney in between or not. In fact, that's actually a testament to how good he was.

if you got a man with a good amount of experience but not that much talent and a man with a HUGE amount of talent but barely any experience
it could be 50-50 but chances are the guy with more talent would win, i mean how much experience do you need to know to moe out fo the way of a punch and throw one back? it's human nature we have insticts ya kno

There's a bit of a difference in KO'ing Thulani Malinga and Melvin Wynn.

How does that change the question of when Jones was in his prime? Maybe we should take a poll because I'm pretty certain anyone who watched Jones' career and saw that performance against Hops can see that, while he was damn good, he certainly had not blossomed into the fighter he would become. Unless, of course, Hopkins was so good that he made Jones look worse than he was .

What does Calzaghe have to do with this?

Calzaghe had beaten Chris Eubank and won the WBO SMW title at about the same point of his career.

Wow, you got alot of boxing knowledge to be able to pull that up off the top of your head like that. Either that or you looked at the fight archive real quick.

All that tells me is that Roy was better before he met Bernard as well as after. I bet if you compare the next ten years after they fought, Roys resume would look ten times better.
