Again I've never said that Hopkins is in his prime now.
He was not dominating until about 1996-1998 when he established himself as a worthy middleweight champion, perhaps the best there was at the time (which he later proved).
WRONG-He was dominating before he fought Jones, and after he fought Jones, just not during his fight with Jones.
On so you know, his first lost was at 190. Cruiserweight. Then he dropped down to 160 and started killing smaller guys. Then fought Roy got dominated. Then went back to dominating smaller guys.
Now the prime your talking about is during the time he fought Antwun Echols twice. He got knocked down twice in one of those fights and squeeked out a win. Doesn't seem like hes improving all that much. Meanwhile Jones is now two weight classes up dominating, and talks are forming that he may fight Buster Douglass, because by now people know that the only chance for him to loose is if he fights a heavy weight. Do you think that Bernard would have had a chance against Roy Jones who was two weight classes having no close fights. Only fter Roy got beat at 35 years of age was there any questioning about his greatness.
AGE AGE AGE AGE AGE AGE AGE. Thats the only thing that beat Roy. Get it.

Who did he fight before facing Jones?
Echols didn't knock down Hopkins. It was actually Segundo Mercado, a year after Hopkins fought Jones. The fight was declared a draw.

Echols also knocked Bernard down. He fought echols twice during the time span you listed as his prime between 96-2001. He won both fights but Echols floored him in one of the fights and almost won. See I knew yall don't really know about Bernard. Yall can look stuff up well, but you weren't living it when it was actually happening, if so, you would have already known Roy Jones was untouchable, and deserves a top 10 ATG seeing as he was awarded fighter of the decade, that at least makes him the best fighter from 90-00.
So in the last 100 hundred years, he is one of 9 people to be the best of his era. I know hed woop any fighter pre 1950. So thats 4 fighters in the last 50 years to be fighter fo the decade, and the last was Roy. And seeing as how evolution works and the best get better and the strongest get stronger than before, Roy is the last of the best a decade so he could be the best ATG.

You mean when Echols hit Hopkins on a break? Or when he slammed Hopkins on his shoulder?
Hopkins won the first fight comfortably and stopped Echols in the rematch with one working arm.
That's not strictly true, is it? He was beaten in his first pro fight.
Not to mention that he had been "unbeatable" (which is in fact untrue) against the likes of Gilbert Baptist and Wayne Powell before Jones "got to him".

Thanks for posting the rankings up. Very interesting.
Roy should be ranked top 30 ATG. If you count what he did up to the first Tarver fight, this should go without saying. Anyone who saw the first Tarver fight knows that Roy was just about finishing off. He was never the same after that.
