The 140 division isn't terrible. Paulie gave Cotto a good fight. Urango is good. Tszyu was still a great fighter even past his prime. Hell at 147, most think he beat Luis Collazo. A lot more people thought Hatton beat Collazo then Berto did.
I never picked Hatton to beat Mayweather, and I'm insulted that you say I did.

I expected him to give Floyd the toughest fight of Floyd's career though. And I was wrong on that one.

As long as you win it don't matter how it happens. Hatton's just a swarmer who outworks guys wit volume. He ain't an A class boxer, but he's a very tough fighter.

Ever since his upset win over Kostya Tszyu, Hatton has enjoyed being placed amongst the biggest stars in boxing. With a loyal fanbase that will fly across the world to see him fight, a big name in the boxing world, a solid record of opponets, and the recognition of being the man to beat at Junior Welterweight.

But all of this is merely a smokescreen. Hatton is a B level fighter at best. At 140lbs, his division of choice, Hatton is undefeated in the ring. But the division itself is well known for being less than stellar, and I'd go much farther and say it's quite possibly the worst division in boxing right now. Either that or Super Middleweight.

Hatton's biggest victories are a foul filled win over Kostya Tszyu, a knockout of a shot Jose Luis Castillo, and a "knockout" of Paulie Malignaggi.

Hatton walks around at about 180lbs, yet chooses to fight at 140lbs, why? I think it's because Hatton knows he would get starched by any top 5 fighter at 135lbs or 147lbs.

Just look at Hatton's brief "campaign" at 147lbs, a lot of people thought he lost in his very first fight at 147lbs against unhailed Luis Collazo. In his next fight, Hatton opted to fight Juan Urango at 140lbs and earned a UD victory, and he followed that with a 4th round KO over shot veteran Jose Luis Castillo again, at [U]140lbs[/B].

In his next fight at 147lbs, Hatton was knocked out by undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr, and he quickly returned to 140lbs.

Hatton is a fraud. His walk around weight is close to 40lbs heavier than the weight he chooses to fight at. It's clear to me he's picked 140lbs as his division of choice due to the thin level of competition, and low risk opponets that are to be had there. Thus allowing him to continue to feed his record with opponets, and stand out as a "star" in the boxing world, who cashes in with big money fights.

I can't wait to see Pacquiao knock this bum out once and for all.
LOL I almost took you seriously.. Nice one..

For 140 to be so trash alot of them have destroyed 135ers like Holt did David Diaz. 140 is no where near the worst, HW is and MW

I think Hatton is a genuine good dude and good for boxing, you can hardly call him a fraud for finding a weight class that he can totally dominate, it makes perfect sense.

I'll see what he can do with Pacquiao. I may lighten up on him a bit. But if he goes in there like usual, and catches every punch with his face, and gets battered to a one sided TKO like I think he will, it won't change for the better.

I'm not much of a Hatton fan tho and I kno you kno your being harsh but some fighters just rub people the wrong way for whatever reason, Hatton seems to be the one you dont like
It's no secret that he's one of the few fighters that I dislike. But I try to look at it objectively as well. Sure calling him a "bum" and hoping he gets KO'd isn't too objective. But I also threw in some factual data on his walk around weight, and my opinion on why he fights at 140 rather than 135 or 147.

That might be it. I know Addison picked him, but I thought you did too.

I don't know what is with the down-playing of Hatton's competition. He does not have a bad resume:

                      Top wins:
-Kostya Tszyu: Tszyu was a bit past his prime, but he was still good. Not to mention Tszyu was like a 3-1 favorite and Hatton looked damn good in this fight. It showed Hatton's skill set and it proved he was a good fighter.

-Luis Collazo: Quality win for Hatton, which is disputed, but the majority think Hatton won because of the knockdown. Hatton's first fight at 147. He tired late due to blowing up to much overnight (he was 161 compared to the 154 he was for the Mayweather fight) and....well Collazo hitting him constantly. Quality of this win goes up due to Collazo's very strong showing against Berto

-Juan Urango: The quality of this win go up due to the impressive performance against Herman Ngodujo. Hatton looked great for the first 6 rounds. Looked eh (see: ****ty) for the last 6, but pretty much won all of them.

-Paulie Malignaggi: Another quality win. Gave a gutsy effort against Cotto. Dominant win over Lovemore Ndou. Close wins over Herman Ngodujo and Lovermore Ndou in a rematch (which was caused due to the ****** hair locks). #2 Jr. Welterweight in the world at the time.

-Carlos Maussa: Tricky fighter who beat regarded Vivan Harris.

-Jose Luis Castillo: Shot to pieces, but still was able to beat Herman Ngodujo, who is a good fighter imo.

-Vince Phillips: Good step up fight for him. Dominated him after Mitchell had gotten an MD him.

The bottom 3 are the weaker of the bunch, but still overall impressive resume over a good batch of fighters.
