The truth about Ricky Hatton

i love it when you ****** pinoys try and give credit or hype every opponent pacquiao is facing just so you can feel pacquiao beat a legend or some ****... somehow david diaz was the lightweight king to you morons.I'll give you the benifit of the doubt, but I still think your being to harsh on Hatton...He got an ugly ugly win againts Kostya but he still won, he recently out boxed and tkoed Paulie who took Cotto to the judges. Castillo was shot but if Hatton was just your typical above average fighter, he wouldn't have knocked out a guy of that Caliber in that fashion... Other fighters he fought went on and shown their worth post Hatton. Floyd was the only dude to beat him at 147.. I am a big Pac fan and would be hard pressed to guarantee a victory like most of you do.. I think Pac will have his hands full and this fight can play into a scenario that leads right into Ricky's hands among other possible senarios.Comment

Hatton's natural boxing weight for his measurements is probably closer to the 130 pound division. When Hatton weighs 180 pounds there's nothing natural about it and that's why he looks like a blimp and has numerous chins when he gets out of boxing shape. Some people forget how small Hatton IS/WAS, especially as a late teen and early 20's. It's not like Ricky lost weight like Hopkins or Williams to fight in an unnatural division. Hatton is tiny next to every WW which makes his win over Collazo all the more impressive.

Original poster is an ass. Ricky's a fighter who doesn't duck anyone, whether win or lose, he wants to take it. It's rare to see that courage in boxing these days, just take a look at fellow american Floyd Mayweather Jr who has been ducking everyone on our soil for the past few years.
Hattons a great fighter, someone who comes here with no fear. Best in his weight division.
Well done Hatton, I take my hat off to you.Comment

You are right man.Ricky aint no elite fighter.Pacman will whoop his assRicky Hatton has enjoyed many years in the limelight, becoming a standout "star" in the world of professional prizefighting. Ever since his upset win over Kostya Tszyu, Hatton has enjoyed being placed amongst the biggest stars in boxing. With a loyal fanbase that will fly across the world to see him fight, a big name in the boxing world, a solid record of opponets, and the recognition of being the man to beat at Junior Welterweight.
But all of this is merely a smokescreen. Hatton is a B level fighter at best. At 140lbs, his division of choice, Hatton is undefeated in the ring. But the division itself is well known for being less than stellar, and I'd go much farther and say it's quite possibly the worst division in boxing right now. Either that or Super Middleweight.
Hatton's biggest victories are a foul filled win over Kostya Tszyu, a knockout of a shot Jose Luis Castillo, and a "knockout" of Paulie Malignaggi.
Hatton walks around at about 180lbs, yet chooses to fight at 140lbs, why? I think it's because Hatton knows he would get starched by any top 5 fighter at 135lbs or 147lbs.
Just look at Hatton's brief "campaign" at 147lbs, a lot of people thought he lost in his very first fight at 147lbs against unhailed Luis Collazo. In his next fight, Hatton opted to fight Juan Urango at 140lbs and earned a UD victory, and he followed that with a 4th round KO over shot veteran Jose Luis Castillo again, at [U]140lbs[/B].
In his next fight at 147lbs, Hatton was knocked out by undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr, and he quickly returned to 140lbs.
Hatton is a fraud. His walk around weight is close to 40lbs heavier than the weight he chooses to fight at. It's clear to me he's picked 140lbs as his division of choice due to the thin level of competition, and low risk opponets that are to be had there. Thus allowing him to continue to feed his record with opponets, and stand out as a "star" in the boxing world, who cashes in with big money fights.
I can't wait to see Pacquiao knock this bum out once and for all.Comment
