Castillo was shot but if Hatton was just your typical above average fighter, he wouldn't have knocked out a guy of that Caliber in that fashion... Other fighters he fought went on and shown their worth post Hatton. Floyd was the only dude to beat him at 147.. I am a big Pac fan and would be hard pressed to guarantee a victory like most of you do.. I think Pac will have his hands full and this fight can play into a scenario that leads right into Ricky's hands among other possible senarios.
As a Pacfan, you have nothing to worry about in Hatton. Seriously. I know a lot of Pac's fans didn't believe he could do it against Oscar, hardly any of them actually bet on him or picked him to beat Oscar.

I'm telling you, Manny will demolish Ricky. He's on the Elite level, he's younger, faster, has faced the better competition, and has more skills all around.

The only way Hatton wins is if the referee allows him to clinch Manny and rabbit punch him for 12 rounds.

Other than that, Manny starches him.

You guys saying he's B class are going to look like fools if he beats Pacquiao.
He's not going to. Hopkins has a better chance of beating Klitschko than that happening.

Phillips was a nice proving test that was a nice step up for Hatton. Off topic, but Phillips really had some nice wins after he KOd Tszyu.

Malignaggi took a physical beating, but he still managed to win rounds off of Cotto. Malignaggi one only one round against Hatton. It was a pretty solid performance in which Hatton was more controlled then normal.

Maussa had beaten Vivian Harris, who got completely owned after talking so much **** the press conference before the fight. Then Ricky beat him. That's a quality win.

As for the Tszyu fight, it was ugly, but Ricky forced his way on the inside. Really tore down Tszyu's body and overwhelmed him with punches. He looked pretty fast doing so and even though it was foul filled (which is part of Hatton's skill set. He knows how to do it), he impressed (me at least) doing so.

I mean BlackIrish brings a really good point. I don't think I'd pick Ricky over the 140 greats, but he's still a great fighter imo. At least certainly bad as this thread points him out to be.
I can't really counterpoint you any farther without basically having to repeat myself, so I will await May 2nd to get a better gauge of how good Hatton really is.

But if he gets starched and blown out like I think he's going to, the threads I make afterwards won't be any easier on lil' Ricky.

And yeah, we can still be friends. I'd like to see what D has to say about Ricky here in this thread. Where is that ****?

He's off playing fable and then going to pick up a friend from the airport so he probably won't be on.

As for Ricky. I expect him to lose, but I don't think it'll be an absolute massacre. If anything it'll kind of be like Floyd-Hatton, where Hatton wins maybe one or two rounds and then Pacquiao blows him out.

If Hatton only manages to win 1 or 2 rounds, and is bleeding like all hell before he gets knocked out, I'd label that a massacre.

I need to get on photoshop and put the Toxic Avengers head on Hatton's body. Then say this is how I think Hatton's face will look after the fight, only worse~..

Ricky Hatton might not be as elite as some people make him out to be, but "B" level fighter is going too far. Undefeated in his weight class, reigning Champion for years now. The man is far from "B" level.

He's undefeated in a weight class that most people consider to be subpar.

He's the reigning Champion in that weight class, for years, because the division is thin in competition.

                That's B level.

But I'm just repeating myself now, and you're more than entitled to your opinion.

Ricky will look so bad after the Pac fight that he'll make the "Toxic Avenger" look like George Clooney.

Not to be an elitist ****, but that is by definition not true. Reigning, Undefeated Champion in any weight class = A level.
He handled Tszyu pretty good, Castillo and Paulie, too. Hitman is a good fighter, he just isnt P4P #1 material.

                      I don't even think he's top 10 P4P material.

Only if he beats Pacquiao will I give him the nod on my top 10, probably at 8. But that's one big if.
