No way is a hatton win less significant than a baby bull win

the hatton fight can be considered a borderline cherry picking fight ... its a big money fight against an opponent thats at the end of his prime and not an elite fighter ... yes hes the man at 140 but the division is pretty shallow ... none the less hes the man and if (but more like when) manny beats hatton it should be considered a solid win ... i dont think we should take that away from manny. i think the important thing is how he disposes of hatton ... and who he chooses to fight after ...

This is not the same Hatton that fought Tszyu that's for sure.

I don't think that's an excuse for anything. I just don't Hatton is as good as he was, age or not. His style makes for short careers.
I don't believed Hatton is shot. At 147, Collazo is always game when he fights. Its hard to fight Mayweather cuz he always back up and just do defense. Hatton was doing his thing but PBF is just good. He improved under Mayweather Sr. Hatton is still in his prime(just my opinion).

Like I said the dudes are giving props to Marquez for beating an amazing fighter that lost to nate campbell yet discrediting Ricky Hatton who only lost to mayweather at 147... Thats just straight bias. Ricky>>>>>>Juan Diaz..
I think Manny looks better than Hatton and has improved a ton since his first loss to Morales. I think Hatton has gotten progressively worse.

That's all I am saying. I am not including JMM is god or any of that **** in this.

That is my observation on the matter. Pac has improved. Hatton hasn't looked elite since Tszyu.

And for the record, I think Hatton at this point would have his hands full with any champ at 140 at this point. And he will have his hands full with Pac.

I'd love to see Pac against Bradley or any of those young guns at 140 or even 35, to Bringer's original point.

                Its' not even close.

Fighters almost never know when to get out.
That's right, so the professional's who surround Roy, or the dietitians and experts that Oscar pays thousands of bucks to, should keep him informed that he can't cut it anymore and make sure he's well enough to compete, otherwise quit before they get hurt. I just don't buy excuses man. It's not the opponents' fault if he beats the **** outta you. If that happens, then you got what you deserved because you played the game. It's a brutal sport where fighters use every advantage they can to make as much money as possible, but when a fighter beats a "shot" fighter he gets it in the neck for doing exactly that. It's wrong.

The only time I have sympathy is when it's someone like Liston at the end of his career. Basically, fighting to keep a roof over his head and put food on the table. Those fighters who already have enough but can't stop because they can't resist the millions... forget it.

Then we can say that about Pac also, his just 2 months younger than Ricky.

That's what I was saying. Hatton could be fighting at 147lbs with ease, but he's not had great success with it in the past. Most people thought he lost to Luis Collazo, and Mayweather starched him. So he boils down to 140lbs because the division is **** and the competition is thin.
