I'm not arguing SMW was BETTER, just that LHW wasn't great either.

it's like saying the Dolphins last year where better than the Lions this year, you're right but that doesn't mena the Dolphins didn't suck!
Except the Dolphins made the playoffs and the Lions didn't win a game all year.

LHW wasn't the best division but it was WORLD's better than SMW which had next to nothing back then, hiding fighters who weren't good enough for 160 and wouldn't dream of stepping to 175.

Just like the 168 division was comparable to the LHW division at the turn of the century, right?

The Dolphins were 11-5 and lost in the first round of the playoffs. The Lions were 0-16.

LHW was the 3-13 Dolphins, SMW the 0-16 Lions.

Well he should have moved on and dumped the joke of a belt he was holding.

It's not like the WBO held a gun to his head or anything, and that the the tin pot belt is sacred.

The belt was even lower regarded back then, then it is now.

A team with a great running back but no offencive line is not going to make it to 8-8.

What are you talking about the Vikings line is mediocre at best and Adrian Peterson carried them a long way. And Roy Jones ain't Adrian Peterson, he's freaking Barry Sanders lol; another who carried a horrendous line and a garbage team to the playoffs multiple times. And that's to the playoffs. I'm just talking to a .500 record!

                  Good stuff, hammer.

Chris Eubank - past his prime

So out of 21 title defenses and 10 years ....i see 2 as credible wins.

                      What say you?

Even lacy and kessler althought being credible/good wins, both of those fighters havent done **** since then, and their resume is still not that great.
I personally think Calzaghes and Hopkins resume have a lot of similarities.

Both had a lengthly reign in their respective divisions without beating anyone of real note.

Then both had their breakthrough fights, Hopkins:- Tito and DLH. Calzaghe:- Lacy and Kessler.

Hopkins then moved up two divisions and beat the number one in Tarver and as we know Calzaghe then jumped up to Light Heavy and beat Hopkins.

Both fighters have wins over good opposition BH:- Tito, DLH, Wright. JC:- Kessler, Lacy, Eubank

Both have wins over decent opposition BH:- Joppy, Echols, Allen, Eastman. JC:- Mitchell, Brewer, Reid, Bika

And both fighters have wins of **** fighters BH:- Hakker. JC:- Pudwill.

Both fighters are at the tailend of their respective careers and both are hall of fame bound, its just a shame the majority of Americans dont give Calzaghe the same amount of respect they give to Hopkins
