Apart from what Oscar is saying I still believe that Manny doesn't have that much power at higher weights & just wears you down with his speed as he keeps connecting. He beat down Diaz & Oscar because clearly they couldn't match his speed & could not retaliate from the onslaught but a prime tough guy like Ricky Hatton has a chance to pull an upset & I feel that inside. Manny is wide open to get hit all day & if a fighter has some REAL pop on his punches and can neutralize his speed then he is easy pickings.

De La Hoya shouldn't be speaking about Manny not hurting him because he got his ass whupped plain and simple. Plus Oscar should not have lied to people by saying he was in the best shape of his life etc.......He got beat and that's all to it but some of what he said makes sense. The few times he did connect on Manny, Manny felt it. It would be wise for Pac to stay at 135 not sure about 140 yet. If he gets past Hatton then I say 140 too but 147? NO WAY! Manny gets creamed by Mosley/Cotto/Clottey.

if this is the case, then hatton will end up gettin fucked up for taking de la hoyas advice, just like he did in the mayweather loss
Interesting post. I'm not sure if I see Oscar's "reasons" for losing as a way to motivate Hatton, but it's something I never thought about until you mentioned it. I see his "reasons" as excuses and a way to salvage some respect. Excuses are excuses. The only time I see them as genuine reasons is if a fighter is suffering with an injury. Weight excuses don't wash with me. These are professional athletes who pay massive amounts of money for top-class dietitians, and who have been in the game long enough to know better. Can't make the weight? Well then, stop being a greedy bastard and fighting only for a payday. Turn the fight down and save your reputation instead.

I give Pacquiao his respect because he beat all of his challenges fair and square but I do think that the second Marquez fight was VERY close but I think the Knock Down sealed the deal. I see Manny getting KO'd in the future though.

when did i say paquiao didn't deserve credit i'm just sayin outside of oscar marquez, morales and barrera all have good arguments especially when compared to manny's i didn't have the right sox excuse.paquiao may have beat erik fair and square but erik was no longer fighting in the wight class where the rematch had happened so erik had to come down in weight making him look like he was about to die.
              how am i a hater ?

Morales was fighting at 135. Not a huge difference from 130. You can go to the bathroom a few times and lose a few pounds like that, it's not like Pac "forced" him to come down from heavyweight.

All the talk of Morales looking like he was dying is absolute crap if you ask me. Again... can't make the weight? Don't take the fight. Is it really worth the risk of being knocked out?

Doubt all you want about Pacquiao's ability to hurt welterweights. Does that mean there are no welterweights he cannot beat? Of course not. It's about styles. Pacquiao does not need to be a power punching monster to win fights.
which ww do you actually think paquiao can beat?besides margarito paquiao has the worst defense of all the ww and he himself is not a ww.
who has david diaz beat? was it a surprise that manny put the beats on him?
what does a bum ass david diaz have to do with the ww?just because diaz couldn't deal with manny's speed and power which no one thought he could any way doesn't mean a ww can't
