he fought erik at 130 because PAC was still at that weight and it was Morales that excercised his rematch/rubbermatch clause


PAC went on to fight at 130 one more time and then moved up to fight at 135 once and THEN fought at welter



its not like PAC was fighting at 147 the whole time and moved back to 130 just to work Erik

Annoying, isn't it.

I can't stand when people pick up bits of bad info on a message board and run with it. One guy says "Pacquiao is a bastard! He FORCED Erik Morales at gunpoint to go down to a weight he knew he couldn't fight at, just to get a top name on his resume! Pac is actually **** and totally overrated!"

Next guy goes "Yeah! And I heard they had Erik chained up in a cage, feeding him nothing but celery for a month before that fight! Pacquiao is a complete bastard and a fraud!"


Then it snowballs from there. Oh, and some asshat has to try and turn it into a Calzaghe thread. Almost forgot about that.

Manny clearly doesnt hit extremely hard at that weight. Like some people have said, he landed EVERYTHING on Oscar and never put him down. He never would have either. They would have stopped it with Oscar getting hit at will but still his feet. Manny doesnt have the pop to actually lay Oscar out. Power didnt win Manny that fight, speed did. Same thing that will likely win him the Hatton fight.

I never thought manny pac would be a hard hitter at 147. But I do think if DLH hadn't quit he would have been able to eventually sit down on some of his punches and get his KO. Imagine if the Diaz fight had been stopped before the KO. I don't think anyone would really even be saying he carried his power to 135.
