Its not really about hitting hard, it was the rate and speed that they had when landing. Oscar can say anything, but he was blanked in that fight, he should thank God that he didn't fight Cotto, Mosley or a plastered Margarito.

I think it's more to do with how good Oscar's chin is. When was the last time he got knocked down, or even hurt(Before Pac)?

By the way, I don't believe that Manny CAN'T hit hard. For the Oscar fight, he was constantly moving, and obviously, when you do that, you can't sit down on punches and get full leverage. It was more important for Manny to favor speed over power and just keep moving, which was a wise plan because he could have been caught by a big punch and knocked out. I don't believe Manny went into that fight knowing Oscar wouldn't be able to perform at his best, rather, he prepared for a tough fight and pulled off his game plan to perfection.

Having said all that, if the fight had continued, Oscar would have been knocked out in the next round or two. It would have gone exactly like the Diaz fight. Pac seems to reserve his full power until late. The first half of the fight apears to be spent breaking the opponent down with speed and accumulation of shots that force you to weaken. Later on, BLAM... lights out.
Manny hits hard in P4P terms. In Welterweight terms, he didn't show great power and won't. He did show he can add up punishment on a punching bag which is what Oscar was that night. Oscar has taken shots from Ike Quartey and Manny doesn't have that sort of Welter power and if his people convince themselves he does and go after dudes like Cotto they're in for a world of hurt.

Power can only be measured according to what kind of punches you've taken before, and of course, Oscar has been in with the likes of Hopkins. After that, I guess Pacquiao is obviously not gonna throw the hardest punches you've had to take!
diaz is a bum he got dropped by erik and probably lost that fight

i doubt manny can hurt any of the ww

Oscar just couldn't deal with the speed. He's been in with WAY bigger punchers obviously.

Manny is only a snappy puncher at WW, at 135 and 140 though he's probably got decent pop.

I don't believe a word of what DLH is saying though, he got hit in the gut and keeled over in the second round, how can he say those didn't hurt.

                  As usual..excuses from DLH.

I'd say Pacquio probably hits about as hard as Calzaghe"peeleft:does anyway.
