Clottey and Williams were supposed to work out a fight for last Nov, but HBO didn't want to put up enough funds for the fight.

That being said you gotta feel bad for Clottey. He called out Berto, but he won't fight him, Mosely definitely won't fight him, and while I'm sure Cotto is man enough for the fight, he's at the big money stage and won't fight him either.

      Now I Understand........

The problem is that he has bad management & didn't thoroughly go through his contract & have knowledge of the ins/outs of what Top Rank was supposed to be doing for him. That's why he doesn't deal directly with Arum because Arum doesn't respect his business. He needs to be more vocal with who he wants to fight & since his manager is not doing his part then Clottey needs to take up the slack & handle things himself until he gets another competent manager. Going to the Miguel Cotto fight is a good move & he should go up to Miguel & tell him "I want to fight you" & "Why are you avoiding me"

He'll have to put the fighters at 147 on BLAST! I don't think it is fair for Cintron to be considered with fighting Miguel on June 13th & not Clottey who is a title holder at 147 & rank in the top 5. I think these $ excuses are running quite thin. If Bob Arum feels that Cotto won't get much $ rematching Mosley then put him in with Clottey! I'm sure at this point Joshua would fight for 30% and Miguel could take 70%.

This sucks, now Clottey might leave boxing because he can't even get a fight with the likes on Cintron. Collazo or Quintana should at least fight him. I know neither of those guys are afraid of losing and they are solid challenges. Bob Arum is an idiot, I hope Cotto & Clottey leave and go to golden boy or another promoting company. Messed up thing is he is supporting people back in his homeland, and now he can't even get a payday.

Clottey is the truth. As fans we should demand the best fight the best and thus far the true champions of the division have Mosley,Margarito(Pre-Wrapped),and Cotto. Berto is the only one who has not put in the dues like the others to attain his title vacated by Mayweather Jr. and triumphed over Mikkii Rodriguez Who?Are u Kiddin me! Clottey should take a tune-up at this point to stay busy and look for a match either against Cotto,Mosley or P.Williams early or late summer. Meanwhile, Berto should face Collazo in a rematch and should be pressured by us fans to face one of the top 3 welterweights if he is a true champion.

But did they try getting Showtime to do it? Or PPV? I bet a promoter who really wanted the fight to happen would have made it happen, and I suspect that Arum's lack of interest in Clottey and dislike of Williams is the biggest reason it fell through.

              What a shame!

I wish I was a millionare! I'll pay this guys out of my own pocket to see a Clottey-Cotto or Clottey-Mosley fight. It is sad that such a good fighter and beltholder is not even mentioned by Arum. Maybe he is too busy trying to get Margacheato a fight in Mexico instead of worrying about his champ. Cotto is thinking about leaving him and Clottey will do the same.

If Joshua Clottey gets a better Manager & Promotion company I am sure that he can get some shine on Show Time if not HBO. I see all kinds of NO name or Semi Big fighters on there and the matches are good more than bad, some would even say more action packed and competitive than HBO cards. I think Clottey needs to get a more abrasive personality & start making himself more vocal and defending his title. The whole thing is to stay busy. Clottey just can't sit around hoping that someone will call him out.

its pretty ****ed up if clottey does have access to arum, his promoter.

hopefully clottey can get that ***** cleared up soon.

whoever is doing the post fight interview needs to bring clottey into the ring and see how cotto reacts to clottey. cotto will have to defend his honor instead of just saying "my promoter tell me who to fight"
