i don't get why people say the WW division is the "best" when no one fights each other. It's not the Leonard/Hearns era.

Sure it's got talent, but will Cotto vs Clottey happen? No, Mosley vs Williams/Clottey? No.

i don't get why the RICH fighters are the one's talking about "money fights", aren't they already rich? so why not fight the best and unify?

Sugar Ray Leonard was the mega star of the '80s, but that man never turned down a challenger. Now, that's a great fighter....

really is sad knowing best welters nowadays care more about money than glory.

And you have kids saying Blacks get more respect in boxing and better chances . I can't resist but to ask, had Clottey been white and European, would he have this much trouble getting a fight? There you have it, but no point in beating the dead horse, this has been this way for a long time. That's why you see the greatest athletes going to the NFL, Basketball or MMA and not so much boxing nowadays. The word gets around and no one talented wants to waste time on a sport where you only get chances if you resemble Robocop or Terminator or talk smack at all times. It's like boxing is a spoiled 12 year old with no manners.

            Absolutely. Look at Arthur Abraham.

Verbally, not physically, you can't fight for a title if you're in jail! But I agree he needs to start jumping press conferences and making a scene.

Well maybe I exaggerated but technically you could, as it's classed as assault. Anyway, it would be counter-productive to be physically violent outside the ring, IMO, he'd do better to make a verbal scene.

NB - Williams ought to try breaking in on press conferences as well but I can't see him doing it - he's so laid back outside the ring, it's amazing he can walk without falling over.
