Also, how come no one is bitching and complaining about Chad fighting Tarver again? Is the fight really necessary and is that Chad's only option besides wanting to fight Joe?
He beat Pavlik because he is still good.
You can still be good but passed your Prime.

He is still good? He whooped the a$$ of a fighter who is almost 20 years younger and the same said fighter just happened to beat a fighter that beat him twice and all you can say is he looked good. Hopkins is a freak of nature and regardless how you want to twist it Calzaghe beat him fair and square and no amount of bitching and complaining will ever change that fact.

clazgahe has an undefeated record, which looks good on any fighter. but lets not call him a hall of famer, 2 years ago nobody even knew of him, all he has done is beat 2 old legends, and the bhop fight has a huge question mark.

he is definetly a legend in britain, but not in the states, and everybody knows to be consirered great, you have to prove yourself in the US,where the greatest athletes are.

he says there is nothing left to do? bull****, every body wants to see him fight hopkins again, with bhop destroying pavlik,it was a perfect setup to do it. but lets face it, he knows the bhop fight was razor close, and the way he beat pavlik,no doubt hes afraid of him.he kept using that lame racist excuse to avoid him. all im saying is, is a disgrace to all the legends when they call calzaghe a hof

He will stay retired... the only reason he "isn't ruling out a comeback" is because he is the type of guy who would say "nobody can predict the future...", I think he will stay retired and I hope he does... and then enjoys the rest of his life with his close friends, relatives, and family.

You mean two years ago, you didn't know of him. That's because you're not a boxing fan. Boxing fans knew of him long before that, and most of his best fights took place many years ago.

As for your idea that he won't get into the Hall of Fame, you're a joke.

It's hard for ANY professional athlete to retire while they still feel they're able to compete and most great athletes always feel they can compete due to their enormous ego. That's why so many great athletes end up leaving a bad taste in their fans mouth, fighting or playing past their prime.

Joe Calzaghe has done more then enough to get into the HOF and earn respect from any REAL boxing fan or expert. I know many haters are going to be bitter that they'll never see Joe get KTFO like they'd been hoping and predicting for over a decade, but get over it, the guy had an amazing career like him or not!

So what he's saying is that he doesn't regret being a fraud?

I would have liked to see him take on Chad dawson, he would have had trouble in that fight im telling you.

Anyways its down to personal taste perhaps.

But if Calzaghe is there, Hatton should be high up there as well, he fought the best fighter of his era hands down in mayweather, took on the most legitmate threat at 140 in paulie, and is fighting the P4P no 1 again in his prime.

How many prime legends has calzaghe fought his entire career?

Calzaghe has fought three legends, Eubank, Hopkins and Jones. Kessler has the potential to be a legend, only time will tell. It's not like the SMW division was chock full of "prime legends" during his career. There were only four true legends close to his weight class during JC's era, Calzaghe, Jones, Hopkins and Toney. Calzaghe beat 2 of the 3 even if they were past their primes, so was he though. Joe has defeated a plethora of quality contenders during his 12 years as Champion.

Dawson may be a tough fight for Joe and if he fights Hopkins and beats him convincingly maybe Joe will come out of retirement to face him. Everything that's being said about Dawson now was also being said about Lacy, Kessler and Pavlik until they all lost convincingly.

Then he shouldnt have waited a bout 10 years to move up a division
