imo if u are gonna rank duran as an atg than u absolutley have to rank him behind the likes of tyson, hopkins, jones, mayweather, lennox, holyfield, and maybe even pacquiao

yes redeemed himself...... i said that **** son........

he beat some greats no doubt, but he also lost to duran, which imo is unacceptable.....

hust like paul williams will be haunted by that quintanna loss in the future....... my atg list only goes to about 25 fighter in alll weight classes, because there are so many atgs.........

o and btw, i was exaggerating, the point was that loss pushed him back, and the hagler fight boosted him up

He lost the Duran fight because he fought using the wrong tactics. He couldn't beat Duran by standing toe-to-toe with him, which is why in the rematch he humiliated him with superior boxing skills.

How is losing to a fighter regarded as one of the greatest LW's of all time unnacceptable when you avenge the loss twice?

Paul Williams is nowhere near the fighter Leonard was and quite likely will never get close.

I'd like to hear your top 25 ATGs as well if you've got time to post them.

True the loss did set him back, but it was 7 years between the Brawl in Montreal and the Hagler fight. In which time he avenge his loss, KO'd an ATG in Tommy Hearns, retired, comback, retired again, and made another comeback! So I'd hardly say the Hagler fight boosted him up. His legacy was already sealed.

and duran didnt even make it to 39-0
Neither did Hagler, but you can't seriously say Mayweather is a better fighter/higher ranked ATG than Marvellous Marvin?

Duran lost 16 fights because he fought until he was 50 years old.
Leonards best was at 147, At middleweight i would bank on a Hopkins win. Leonard isn't leagues better than anyone Hopkins has beat, but i will agree he was better.

Duran took ATG top 10, Leonard 12 rounds aged 38 at middleweight.

Duran was a Lightweight FFS, at welterweight he was 1-1 with Leonard who is top 5 Welters all time, he beat legit fighters at 135, 140, 147, 154, 160, 168.

                Won legit titles at 135, 147, 154, 160.

won his first world title at 22 and his last at 38, and those where real title not alphabetti spaggetti title either.

The idea the guy is somehow not a legend and top 10 all time is fcuking idiocy.

                  Indeed.

Leonard at 147 is much better than anyone Hopkins ever beat. I don't think there is any question about it.

I agree that he is pretty damn overrated. Maybe not the most overrated of all time but he was overrated, not a top 10 atg imo.
