"He use to, and he was great. But that stopped to pick and choose fights for money instead of legacy."

      Very Misleading, Very Misleading....

Look I know you are a huge Cotto fan, but these are the facts Cotto had the chance to fight Floyd at 140. And he and his camp turn it down, because they didn’t think they were ready and the time wasnt right.

      Whose Fault is that?

I am going to say some real **** I once read.

"The sad truth is that opportunity doesn't knock twice. You can put things off until tomorrow but tomorrow may never come."

If you are at all alittle bit objective you cannot PUT ALL THE blame on Floyd for not fighting cotto. Because he gave him the Opportunity to fight him, and Cotto turn it down.

What if Kobe Bryant, or Lebron James said "nall I dont think I am ready to go to the NBA right out of Highschool, i will go after i get some more experience playing college basketball" and went to college and blow out their knee, and never got to Opportunity to play in the NBA, because they injuried themselves playing College Basketball. YOU THINK IF GIVEN THE CHANCE TO DO IT OVER, YOU THINK THEY WOULD HAVE STILL WENT TO COLLEGE?

They were 17 years and saw a HUGE Opportunity and took it. And it change their life.

Floyd became a WBC World Champion at 21 years old. and after his 17th Pro fight because the man at 130 Genero presented him the Opportunity to fight him right then. Floyd could of said nall Im not ready I only had 17 fights. But he didnt do that, He saw a Opportunity and took it.

Miguel Cotto, and Shane Mosely had their Opportunites to fight Floyd and they both made the decision that the time wasnt right for them.

They thought they had all the time in the world to fight him when the time was right for them.

      Well guess what?

“Time is the cruelest teacher; first she gives the test, then teaches the lesson.”

Floyd is retired. And He Retired as the greatest of his generation.
and the sad truth is both of them had the Opportunity to fight him and turn it down.

Not misleading at all, but fact.

Mayweather wanted Cotto when he was green and knew he wasn't ready. When Cotto was ready Floyd said his name wasn't big enough. Why was he big enough at 140, but not 147?

What if Kobe Bryant, or Lebron James said "nall I dont think I am ready to go to the NBA right out of Highschool, i will go after i get some more experience playing college basketball" and went to college and blow out their knee, and never got to Opportunity to play in the NBA, because they injuried themselves playing College Basketball. Basketball isn't boxing therefore making this an incredibly weak comparison.

Im not knocking Floyd for what he accomplished so early on. But what is right for one person isn't always right for another. Do you argue that?

Miguel Cotto, and Shane Mosely had their Opportunites to fight Floyd and they both made the decision that the time wasnt right for them.

Just like down the road Floyd decided the time wasn't right to fight either of them, Margarito or Williams.

They thought they had all the time in the world to fight him when the time was right for them.

        Well guess what?

Floyd being the greatest of his generation is entirely arguable. Him simply not fighting the best in his division for the last 3 years isn't.

LOL...YOU may think that, but that is far from popular belief in the Boxing world and in sports in general.

You go out of your way to defend Floyd's accomplishments in the ring like it's the greatest thing Boxing's ever seen. Of course people will remember that he was a 5 Division champ, undefeated, etc...but if you look back in history, how many fighters are remembered for their accolades as opposed to the fighters they fought?

Floyd's had what...2? LOL...Oscar and Hatton. Did he peak as a fighter against Hatton?

I mean, you look at Sugar Ray Leonard right, the dude was a f.uckin Superstar, a household name, endorsements, he was loved and hated by Boxing fans...kinda like Floyd right? But where the difference lies is when it came down to fight, he fought THE BEST in his prime (Hagler, Hearns, Duran, Benitez, etc). Floyd's beaten some great fighters, but only when he reached the pinnacle did he bow out like he had done it all when in actuality he just ARRIVED at the top.

I'm a fan of Floyd as a fighter, but dude...Floyd has not reached the level of the Sugar Rays, Haglers, etc just off him being undefeated...

As Sugar Ray also once said, "If you're undefeated, that means you haven't fought the best..."

Also man...how come you don't comment on any other fighters besides Floyd, Cotto, or Margarito?

Although Horus gets alot of hate, he makes alot of sense.
You guys can discredit Horus all you want but it doesnt change the fact that he made very valid points. I dont even agree with him on some of the things he says, but I do respect the fact he is consistent.

I know from first hand experience that when an opportunity comes that is very rare, you take it ready or not.
because it is not guaranteed that, that opportunity will ever come again. that is not nuthugging That is real life.

Shane had many opportunities to fight Floyd and turn it down.
And even though I want to see this fight.
Cotto had a opportunity to fight Floyd and turn it down.

Ready or Not, Great Athletes always take advantage of the moment.
And nobody gives Roy **** for beating a green Hopkins.
and look how great it look fot Taylor to beat a prime hopkins.
even though Taylor was still green.

If boxing were just about boxing my friend, I would be inclined to agree. But boxing is as much about buisness nowadays and one fight can set a fighter back for years as well as hundreds of thousands of dollars if not millions.

Why is it Floyd wanted Cotto when he was green and brought no money to the table, yet didn't want him when he was more seasoned and would have brought much more money to the table?

How do you know when Cotto was green or not if he doesnt take big challenges to find out???

Taylor was green when he beat hopkins.
Pacquaio was green when he beat MAB.
Floyd was green when he beat Genero.

The Point is, Being great requires you to do something that nobody expected you to do. Great fighters take chances Ready or not.
You will never know how good you truly are until you do something you thought you could not do.
Cotto IMO was ready to fight Floyd @ 140.
But he didnt take the fight. why i dunno
