Bottom line: no credit for the win over jones. Period.
I dont give too much credit to anyone for beating Jones from 1989 to 2004. Wait.... How many people is that? lol

I would have liked to see him come to america earlier in his career and fight bhop and rjj in their primes. Its probably no coincidence that the fighters with the 0's on their cv's also have a lot of people asking Q's about the quality of their opposition.

I think calzaghe was happy enough plodding along in wales and every now and then trying to get the big names to come to him rather than having to travel to face them. Thats probably what happened against ottke, neither one willing to give up home advantage.

Man if you see him train in person you would know hes not shot. Hes getting older but man hes not shot. In his prime he would have killed Joe and that of anyone. Joe fighting jones of 98 and not 2008 would have been "DESTROYED". Frank Warrens not ****** and neither am I.

Like I have said I give Joe and Warren credit for his perfectly timed career.

Jones will continue to fight and other than Dawson i'm not affraid for his health or him getting KO'ed again.

I've seen his training videos and I respect him immensely. He's still very fast. But the fact is he IS shot. Prime Roy would have ****d Joe badly.

the saddest part is Joe's fans say people like hops and roy ducked HIM. This ******* with a trinket belt doing defenses against mzgererweatkouekufklrtm mtchahhrhaenn in his backyard at local rodeo arenas.

If that's the case then Joe ducked Sven

There is no way that rjj or bhop ducked calzaghe. They would have been more than happen to take that fight if the conditions were right. Its unlikely they would have travelled to wales for that fight unless the money was really huge or there were more belts on the line then joes belt. There is no doubt that to do what joe did you have to be a very good fighter but its a pity his cv doesnt really prove this beyond doubt. Its not like joe was sitting in wales with all the belts around his waist, he only had the wbo i think and thats not the most sought after. If bhop fought him at 44 it makes no sense to say he ducked him younger or even in his prime, no sense at all. Bhop would have loved that fight at any time for the right price of course

Why did he pull out of Lacy and Jones before arranging another date? Why did Calzaghe pull out of fighting Sheika twice?

                  Because he was injury prone.

To say Calzaghe ducked Glen is laughable, at that time Glen hadn't even fought Jones to get his recognition. The fight was arranged again around '06 and Johnson lost, although dubious, to Woods. That's not Calzaghe's problem.

And Hopkins turned down a career high payday (at the time) against Calzaghe to fight weaker opposition in his next few fights. Bernard AGREED the terms and then priced himself out the next day.

Jones was made a couple of offers too, but chose to fight bums instead.

Yeah because Calzaghe was fighting the world's best at the time.
