I think the rematch is going to be very hard for Cotto to win...the judges that have seen the first fight will be inclined to score rounds toward Margarito based on Margarito's chinComment

Jim Lampley adds that comedic edge to commentating...We all know that his comments are "somewhat" skewed. Without him who could we bash for being "impartial".....LOLComment

Margarito sent a message early that told Cotto he'd have a better chance on the outside using his speed advantage. He knew that Tony would be too strong for him inside.Comment

Cotto has been gravitating towards thinking he was a boxer with guys since Mosley. He was able to wipe the floor with Gomez with that style but it was a flawed plan to take to Marg's. Not that Marg's isnt a very rough and tough guy on the inside but Cotto can and should have did alot of work there. If you watch many of the slow mo replays that show Cotto tagging Margarito with counters and combos there were many many opportunities to go the boy instead of the head. I think Cotto was hitting Margarito so cleanly and often he thought there was no way this guy would still be standing by the 11th yet alone knocking him out. He did too many things wrong, didnt work the body and used too much energy, add in the fact that Margarito fought a superb and insanely gutsy fight and this is why he lost. Can he do better? I think so but We may never find out if Mosley has his way and you have to wonder if both Cotto and Margarito will be shop worn after so many gutsy performances.Comment

Please man stop down playing Marg’s boxing ability. Cotto couldn’t go to the body because Marg’s defense wouldn’t let him. Not because Cotto decide not to. Why in the world would arguably the best body puncher in the business not go to the body? With his experience and professionalism why would he not go to the body? Everyone knows/knew what kind of Chin Marg had. You telling me Cotto didn’t plan on working the body? That was Cotto's primary target. Am sure Cotto’s team worked on it especially for the fight. Everyone was banking on Cotto’s body work. But what happened, Marg neutralized that. To neutralize a fighter’s best weapon in a fighter of Cotto’s caliber, especially when focusably and motivatedly trained to use it, takes some serious skill not just a GOOD CHIN. In fact in this case the fighter's chin is irrelevant. Cotto stated it point blank that he found it impossible to go to Marg’s body. Cotto was in there with Marg not you. Seeing the fight from the outside comfortably at a different angle away from the fighter’s perspective can be a little different from the fighter’s experience. It’s like watching Texas holdup and calling all the right shots on exposed hands. Marg times shots very well also. Cotto didn't come into the fight looking the way he left the ring. I suggest re-watching the fight with the commentary off and focus on what Marg was doing. I know Marg may not have the prettiest style, but if you can look beyond that perhaps you can find a little appreciate of what he was able to do with such a tremendous fighter like Cotto.Comment
