MMA vs. Boxing analogy

The analogy is flawed because it makes one huge, and totally unjustifiable assumption.. that boxing and MMA should being compared as fighting systems. In fact they are not, the only meaningful comparision between them is as sports, and as entertainment. I prefer boxing because when the MMA fighters start groping each other on the deck rather than ducking, weaving, and punching I just lose interest. It's just fr*gging dull. Both have their awful fights, I know, but to me the bext boxing is ten times more entertaining than anything MMA has to offer.Comment

MOREBASS used this analogy today to compare boxing and MMA.
MOREBASS: "Like I said before:
Boxing is the slam dunk contest
MMA is the actual game"
I've been disagreeing with him this morning and he's sticking by this analogy. So let me know, is this a valid analogy of the two sports?
But if any boxing fan disputes the comparison then you have a low IQ because thats the kind of basic question that would be on an IQ test. But this also doesn't mean that boxing is bad. Its just that the comparison is meant to degrade boxing.Comment

In boxing you get where you are based on talent
In MMA you get where you are based on garbage KOs and good promotionComment

Yes, because people on a boxing website aren't biased towards boxing at all.
Like I care about your worthless poll.
I agree that its not a perfect analogy, but the gist of it is that boxing is one dimension of a fight, whereas MMA encompases every element of a hand to hand fight.
^ If you can't agree with that simple statement, I don't know what to tell you.
An Ocean (boxing) can not be compared with a puddle (MMA) in terms of the skills in fighting with fists only.Comment

even mma fans know that a brutal KO is better than a submission move.Comment

Please explain to me how a limited sport like boxing is an ocean.
Like I've stated several times already.
I understand that boxing is a tactical and strategic sport, but it is very limited in that you can only use your hands.
Please explain how this is more complex than a sport where almost anything goes ? Punching, kicking, elbowing, kneeing, takedowns, submissions...etc.
Did you not watch the UFC 92 card ?
All 3 main event fights ended with brutal KO's.
It baffles me on how closed minded and ignorant some of you can be.Comment
