    MMA vs. Boxing analogy

MOREBASS used this analogy today to compare boxing and MMA.

    MOREBASS: "Like I said before:

Boxing is the slam dunk contest

    MMA is the actual game"

I've been disagreeing with him this morning and he's sticking by this analogy. So let me know, is this a valid analogy of the two sports?

I like the analogy. Similar to another one that I heard "MMA is the decathlon, Boxing is the 100M dash."

I said Rubgby vs. American football, but I didn't think too deeply about it. But definitely not slam dunk vs whole game.

I see it the other way around.

          MMA is drag racing
          Boxing is nascar racing

              its the other way around.

MMA is just a burst of energy, ending usually very quickly.

              Boxing is the whole she****

Hes right with that boxing would be one aspect of a NBA game, the slam dunk. Just like punching the slam dunk is the most exciting aspect of the NBA, just like punching is the most exciting aspect of fighting. He is wrong though also because slam dunk is quick like MMA. While boxing could be a well thought long basketball game with highs and lows. I think it works both ways.

well in MMA it is very quick, with a very sudden burst of energy. The fights usually end quickly by KO or submission.

In Boxing the pace is slower and more patient, and the fights are MUCH longer on average.

Ur analogy makes no sense at all. HIs makes absolute perfect sense
