Biggest MMA star walks up to biggest boxing star.

MMA Star: Hey, Oscar/Manny, how's it going?

    Boxer: Hey...... you.. This guy.........

I've been disagreeing with him this morning and he's sticking by this analogy. So let me know, is this a valid analogy of the two sports?
I believe I said it better...

I said Boxing is an epic drama with plot twists and deep character development. It may seem a bit slow at times.. but its substance cannot be denied.. Something Like Schindler's List..

MMA is Like Die Hard.. Its Fun and Flashy with Lots of explosions.. But See who wins the best Picture at Oscars..

I never said MMA sucks. That was to illustrate who would know who.

I enjoy MMA. Boxing is just better, to me. But I wasn't even stating that. I was stating that it's better to be GREAT with one facet of MMA than it is to be merely good at a bunch of things.

            Ignorance.

So would you say that BJ Penn is not a GREAT BJJ practitioner ?

Would you say that Olympic Golde Medalist Kevin Jackson is not a great wrestler ?

How about Josh Koschek, is he not a great wrestler either ?

Would you say that Jerome LeBanner is not a great kickboxer ?

Like I've stated before, these aren't guys that are just out there and are okay at a bunch of different things.

Most of these guys have extensive training and experience in one field ie. wrestlers, jiu jitsu players, muay thai fighters, boxers etc...and when they crossover into MMA, they start learning other disciplines to make themselves more well rounded.

But by no means does that mean that they are not GREAT at in one facet of MMA.

That is an ignorant statement that you made to make it seem like MMA fighters are not athletically on par with boxers, which is not at all true.

LOL, now your taking the stance that boxers get paid more in order to make your case that boxing is superior to MMA ?

                Wow.

I'm a boxing fan, and I think what's really killing boxing is the greed in the sport. Its the reason why people feel ripped off after paying for the biggest, largest grossing fight in boxing history.

Its the reason why people feel bamboozled when paying for a boxing PPV event, and can't even name any of the fighters on the undercard.

Its the reason why we have to sit through fights like Jones-Trinidad, Winky Wright - Hopkins, and Calzaghe-Jones Jr.

                  Okay. Point taken.

                  Some people prefer Schindler's List...

So what is the basis for the 'best picture award at the Oscars' ?

But, are they all great at the sport of MMA, in every facet. No.

That's the point. It's a sport that virtually any guy can at the top can win at any time. It's not about dominance, which is what a sport should be about. It's about how bad you do, not how good you do.
