You're a dope. History doesn't remember records. History remembers stories.
Tell us a story about Marciano then. Or should I say, ask 'the man on the street' to tell you something about Marciano other than he was undefeated and retired with 49 wins and no defeats.

Casual fans (who greatly outnumber hardcore fans like me and you who bicker over little details) remember numbers. The average person will be able to tell you Marciano finished with a 49-0 record, not what happened in the 5th round of his 38th fight and what the weather was like on that day.

Hatton. Ricky demanded the fight with Tszyu and then left Warren to come to the States and fight. He would eventually finally step in the ring with Floyd, who was regarded as the best P4P fighter at the time but right before that, he stepped up one division to face a title holder in Collazo and won. NOW, he is set to face Manny Pac, the regarded P4P King.

I give that edge to Hatton because he took it into his own hands when he was younger and fighters were in their prime.

However, Joe, even though it comes off as him being backed into a corner, did fight Lacey and won. Then, he stepped up and fought Kessler.

Other than that, Hopkins and Roy at that point doesn't count for a lot in my book. The two wins against Lacey and Kessler do...but more so with Kessler since he wanted that fight; that gets my respect.

Joe should have stepped up a lot sooner but he didn't.

Exactly. You posted this as I was writing pretty much the same thing.

Hatton and Calz will both be remembered. Hatton would be remembered for as long as Calzaghe, had he not been knocked out.

I think everyone knows that Maricano knocked out Loe Louis... probably more than the fact that he was undefeated.

Really? He knocked out Joe Louis in his final fight. Are you guys kidding? I think I'm going to throw up.

It's very brave of Hatton to earn 20 M for each fight isn't it?

If Calzaghe had the chance to earn that much he'd bite your arm off to fight Pacquiao and Mayweather.

And here, have a sick bucket.

Dude, give it up. The CASUAL fan has no idea of this. The CASUAL sports fan outnumbers the hardcore fan GREATLY.

It's like comparing an average computer user to an overclocker.

"Epic fail" You've won the argument with that. Nicely done. I guess you're right.
