      Who gives a ****.

One has won every fight, the other hasn't.

One has wins over Roy Jones Jr and Bernard Hopkins, the other lost to the best fighter at his Weight class by KO.

Night and day, one will be remembered and the other one wont.

      History wont forget Calzaghe.

        hatton.

he had to beat kostya tszyu to get his title. a lineal belt to go along with the org belt.

joe fought for a vacant belt for an upstart , not yet major org. the wbo was considered a minor belt for most of the time he was champ.

ricky fought another champion in his next fight.

joe didn't fight another beltholder for 9 years.

ricky jumped up to a higher division to challenge another champ soon afterwards.

it took joe what 'til he was 36? 37?

ricky fought the #1 p4p fighter in the world and is gonna fight another #1 p4p fighter next year.

joe could have done that but he didn't.

        ricky > joe

You're a dope. History doesn't remember records. History remembers stories. Great moments. No one remembers Ali's record, but they do remember the "Rumble in the Jungle." No one remembers how many years Louis had the Heavyweight crown, but they remember a thirty second knockout of Max Schmelling at Yankee Stadium.

Your post is idiotic in its hypothesis, which you pass off as fact.

Really? Hatton fought Kosta when he was a top p4p fighter and Mayweather when he was the consensus #1 p4p fighter. You're not impressed by that?

Uhh excuse me, the common fan hasn't got a ****ing clue who Marciano fought they just know his unbeaten record 49-0. Calzaghe has got the names ROY JONES JR & BERNARD HOPKINS glaring you in the face too as his last two fights aswell as a few others.

History will remember Calzaghe as one of the most gifted boxers ever to grace the sport. Beautiful handspeed which he can maintain for 12 full rounds. Others with similar handspeed tire and cannot maintain the speed (see Pascal, for example). A boxer with great stamina and chin.

Hatton will be remembered as a very good boxer with no disernable skill that would seperate him from anyone else in his weight.
