But in that span Oscar looked pretty crappy against Forbes too. And I don't think Floyd struggled with Oscar at all, he fought very much within himself and won the fight without having to do very much. Pacquiao's margin of a victory is a result of his style, not proof that he's better than Floyd. In fact, fighting like that against Floyd may prove to be a detriment to him. Pacquiao struggles against boxers (Marquez, Morales). Floyd would be the best boxer he's faced and perhaps the strongest.

Mayweather can't give dela Hoya a Manny-style beatdown even if they fought 10 times. He definitely can't do that much damage, boring the audience, running around the ring 75% of the time

Your avatar is wrong. Pac has 23" arms, not 20".

He won almost every round, didn't he?

You seem pretty committed to the triangular theories. And to those emoticons.

If Hatton beats Pacquiao (or if Pac struggles with Ricky), will you cling as tightly to that triangle?

FYI: a year and a half can be an eternity when a boxer is in his mid-thirties. Especially when that boxer is coming down about 17 pounds in weight.

I'm willing to teach if you are willing to learn.

So what if he can't give Oscar the kind of beatdown Manny did? Styles make fights.

The question is, how would Mayweather have looked if he outweighed Oscar by two pounds on fight night?

He did. And most were competitive. Lets not lump this into the Jones-Toney category. It wasn't the ref who lumped Oscar up.

And the answer is Oscar didn't want to find out.

Exactly. Which is why Oscar knew he had to stack the deck in his favor if he was to face Mayweather.

Oscar made a huge mistake by trying to downsize too much to face Pac. The worst that Roy looked was when he came down in weight. Ditto Chris Byrd.

Oscar should have been 160 on fight night. I watched the fight again last night. He looked weak, and his muscle tone was not good. Even Manny Steward was commenting on how weak Oscar looked.
