Yeah, you should know that in Puerto Rico boxing it's our main sport, remember, as a small country, we compete with every nation in the world. We might be unbiassed sometimes but you (Dice) are exaggerating, everyone root for their countrymen. We're just being passionate.

NAPO is a fine example of an unbiased Puerto Rican diehard here. Dude even gave Hopkins a respect thread after he thrashed Pavlik.
The only fighters I dislike are the ****y arrogant types who care more about money than legacy, or have no record to stand on and get overhyped here. Keeping huggers in check is my part time job.Comment

i mean seriously, were in a forum where u find out about any fighter from around the world, that we would enjoy watching.
GENERAL HARDCORE BOXING FANS have and advantage of ppl who only know local fighters or known fighters.of course we tend to go with our countrymen but only if they show a sign of being a star.
there's some PR boxers that i dislike or critic them.believe it or not many ppl in PR could be very realistic but they would back their countrymen.Comment

I hear ya, I'm the same way with Philly guys. I don't think it qualfies as a bias, just a certain expectation of your guy I guess. That or tremendous pride and confidence in his abilities and where he comes from or what his background is.thanks man.

We're all a tad bias I guess. Boxing is a nationalistic sport afterall that often pits country vs. country.Comment

agreed! boxing without a nationalistic perspective would not be boxing.BRIEF EXAMPLES:I hear ya, I'm the same way with Philly guys. I don't think it qualfies as a bias, just a certain expectation of your guy I guess. That or tremendous pride and confidence in his abilities and where he comes from or what his background is.

Joe Louis vs Max Schmeling= US VS GERMANY (WW 2 era)
PR VS MEXICO RIVALRY
Muhammad Ali vs Joe Frazier=Best african american heavyweight recognition
US VS UK
i mean without it. the sport would look very black and white.Comment
